Los Angeles.
If it’s not the bums, it’s the typhus. Or the taxes. Or the rats and the environmentalists.
They’re actually interconnected in the vicious cycle that is lefty policymaking. Here’s more.
Pest control and public health experts are calling on California Gov. Gavin Newsom to declare a public health emergency over what they say is a sharp rise in the state’s rodent population.
Gov. Newsom would first have to explore ways to get the rats to vote Democrat and be counted in the census.
Over the past six months, there have been numerous, shocking accounts of city workers being bitten by rodents, police officers diagnosed with Typhus, and even a rat falling from the ceiling of a restaurant onto the menu of a patron.
If they requested straws, then Governor Newsom might agree to kill them.
The study surveyed nearly two dozen private pest control companies that operate throughout California and found all of them reported that Rat Service Requests were up as much as 60% in the last 12 months. Not a single company reported that service requests were down or in line with the previous year, according to the report.
Pest control professionals and sanitation workers told the survey team they observed an “alarming increase” in Norway rats moving around during the day, behavior that experts described as “highly abnormal”.
I’ve seen rats myself. And they are typhus carriers. And environmentalists are helping spread rats and typhus. For the planet.
Instead, the issue is “directly related” a spike in the homeless population and the elimination of effective rodent control methods under legislation such as AB 1788, which would ban the use of ban the “second generation” category of anticoagulant rodenticides in California.
The backers of that bill claim the rodenticides are harming the environment and are killing innocent wildlife.
And undocumented rodent voters.
But from the environmentalist standpoint, lots of dead humans are good for the planet.
“Thank you for coming out today to the City of Angels, but unfortunately it has become the ‘City of Rats’”, said Konstantinos Roditis, former candidate for California State Controller, and Vice Chairman of Reform California. “The decision here at City Hall and in Sacramento is gonna make the problems even worse.”
“If we don’t clean up this mess, our citizens are going to start contracting diseases that are dangerous,” DeMaio added.
The mess is political and thus it’s not going anywhere.
The measured and observed increase in California’s rodent population is directly related to the increase in the state’s homeless population. Homeless individuals provide food sources for rodents that are far more accessible than in homes and/or buildings. As the homeless population increases, it is no surprise that the rodent population would increase as well.
Lefties push for increasing the homeless population and banning poisons that kill rats. So the City of Rats is the future. The only question is how to best community organize them and treat them as a protected group.
Rodents can carry hundreds of pathogens that can transmit various diseases and dangerous parasites. Evidence of their biology indicates their ability to vector not only the spread of diseases like typhus, plague, salmonella, rickettsialpox and other gastrointestinal diseases, but also contribute to asthma. Rodent droppings are one of the leading causes of asthma in children
Progress.
The Left keeps making America better in every way on the road to utopia.
With a massive increase in the rodent population, fleas can quickly multiply. Worse, fleas can transmit diseases carried by a rodent to another animal or a human being.
This ratophobia really must cease. The rats and bums and fleas are enriching us with exciting medieval diseases.
