No.
The National Guard has been filling in, in all sorts of ways, during the pandemic. Including doing things it wasn’t meant to do, like helping care for the nursing home patients whose death warrants Governor Cuomo signed when he forced nursing homes to accept over 6,000 infected coronavirus patients resulting in as many as 11,000 deaths.
But this is insulting, abusive, and just wrong.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo says he is ready to send the National Guard into New York City to pick up the trash piling up on streets and sidewalks after complaints to his office about the garbage have mounted.
The economic fallout from the pandemic resulted in a $25 million cut from the Sanitation Department’s budget in July. That meant a 60% reduction in pickups of public trash baskets. Baskets were being emptied every day pre-pandemic, now that may happen only three times a week.
“Garbage piling up, literally, people saying there is an odiferous environment because of the garbage piling up,” said Cuomo. “I don’t know what’s going on in New York City. If they can’t do it, I have offered to send in the National Guard to help pick up the garbage.”
It is not the job of the National Guard to pick up trash that isn’t being picked up because of budget cutbacks.
New York Dems decided to keep wasting, stealing, and spending money on their pet agenda items, while cutting the trash pickup budget. That’s their decision and they should have to live with it. The National Guard is not Cuomo’s tool for filling in for whatever services are lacking. They’re there for emergencies and crises.
Sending the Guard in to stop the violence or deal with the fallout after a natural disaster is one thing. This is not a natural disaster. It’s Democrat corruption.
Of course, Governor Grandma Killer just says stuff. And he lies all the time, issuing false boasts that never amount to anything.
He went on to say, “The state can bring in trucks, personnel and clean up the city. I think that would be important. This is a public health pandemic. Cleanliness matters. We made millions of gallons of hand sanitizer, right? cleanliness matters.”
Cuomo made zero gallons of hand sanitizer. He bought it.
Imagine if the media actually fact checked Cuomo’s claims and called him out on the constant stream of lies issuing from his mouth.
The only garbage in New York that needs to be picked up is in Albany.
