Daniel Greenfield: What the hell happened in the midterms? You’ve heard a lot of answers over the weekend. Let me offer you some of my own answers in the form of a scary story. I know we’re a little ways past Halloween, but the thing about real life scary stories is they don’t go away when the night ends. They keep on going and the monsters, the ghouls, the goblins, the witches, they are still here. If you doubt that, look at Nancy Pelosi or John Fetterman, they continue onward.
We’re going to talk about a mad scientist. A lot of great scary stories start with a mad scientist now, but the great mad scientists, they’re European mad scientists. American mad scientists just don’t really cut it. Bob, the mad scientist, Jim, the mad scientist, try Dr. [Hansjorg Wyss], the mad scientist. Does that sound like a better name? The scary thing is he’s real. Dr. Wyss’s company conducted medical experiments on human beings. They started by injecting their medical compound into pigs and the pigs died. So of course, the next logical step was to inject it into human beings and the human beings died. Elderly people died suffering and in great pain on operating room tables while representatives of Dr. Wyss’s company stood there and watched and did nothing, of course.
Some people from that company went to jail, but Dr. Wyss did not. As he put it, “They do not have enough on me.” And so Dr. Wyss instead became very, very, very, very, very rich, and like a lot of people who become very, very rich, he went shopping. And one of the things he bought was the Democratic Party. Now, I know the Democratic Party has a lot of owners, so let’s just say he bought one controlling interest alongside George Soros, the Ford Foundation, and so many other players. Now, one issue with Dr. Wyss is that he’s not a United States citizen, he’s a Swiss citizen. Despite that, he has a lot at stake in our elections.
Now, let’s look at how this played out in the midterms in Arizona. One of the platoons deployed to help out the Democrats in the midterms was called something called Somos PAC, which was aimed at organizing Latinos canvassing for Mark Kelly. Now, Somos PAC was in part funded by something else called Change Now PAC, which through a whole bunch of intermediaries, was actually funded by Dr. Wyss, who again, I remind you, is not even a United States citizen. Now of course, PACs are a dirty business. Everybody has 1,000 stories about how dirty PACs are. That’s not even what we’re going to talk about.
What we are going to talk about is the abuse of the IRS as discussed in our latest pamphlet. Now, Dr. Wyss has his name on departments at Harvard and NYU, but he’s also got a lot of organizations that don’t have his name on them, like Arizonans for Fair Wages and a Healthy Economy, or maybe it’s Arizonans for Healthy Wages and something else, I forget. They’re linked to something called the Hub Project, and the Hub Project has these pop-up organizations all across America. There’s Floridians for A Fair Shake; who can argue with Floridians For a Fair Shake, and North Carolinians United for A Fair Economy, and let’s see, Keep Iowa Healthy. Who could oppose Keep Iowa Healthy? Do we want Iowans to be unhealthy? And North Carolinians For A Fair Economy — of course, all these are fronts for radical left-wing operations that are interfering in our elections. And they’re based around the Hub Project, which Wyss funds, which is a 501c3. Now, 501c3s, as you probably know, are charities. They are not meant to engage in any partisan activity. If you are a conservative organization and you are a 501c3, and you do anything political, the IRS will come breathing down your neck in 5 seconds flat. They will stomp through your living room, they will smash down your door with a battering gram.
Those 87,000 IRS agents need something to do with their free time. But if you’re a left-wing organization, you’re a left-wing nonprofit, the IRS will do absolutely nothing. They would do absolutely nothing even if you are not a United States citizen and you have a nonprofit that is interfering in our elections.
Now, what I’m actually going to talk about is beyond Wyss. It’s sheer full scope of the left’s nonprofit intervention in our elections. When you hear about Beta O’Rourke race, 66 million in Texas, or this is how much money was being spent in Texas, you have to remember one important thing. This is the tip of a very, very big iceberg. Most of the spending is not even so-called dark money. Most of the spending is nonprofit money, which means we are funding it; we are paying for that spending. You heard a lot about Zuckerbucks; people notice Zuckerbucks. This is much bigger than Zuckerbucks. We are talking about billions and billions of dollars in nonprofit operations every year. The Democrats talk about wanting a publicly-funded political campaign system. Guess what? They already have one and we are all paying for it.
Now, about a decade ago, David Horowitz co-wrote a very important book titled The New Leviathan, which was warning people about the scale of the Soros network and the other organizations that were really taking over our politics. He was ahead of his time. And our latest pamphlet, which you may be able to see outside, and feel free to get a copy of, we are digging into where the left is now because the left is not just sit and do nothing. It is not where it was 10 years ago or 20 years ago. It is always innovating. And one of its big innovations that most people have not noticed is how big nonprofit funding of elections really are.
Now to understand how this is completely reshaping everything, let’s look at the ACLU. Some people wonder why is the ACLU no longer in the free speech business? Why doesn’t the ACLU believe in free speech anymore? Well, I’m going to ask you a question. How big do you think the ACLU is? Yes, not very big. What do you think its total net assets is? Just throw out a guess.
Audience Member:
Daniel Greenfield: Its actual total net assets now is three-quarters of a billion dollars. It increased monumentally under Trump. You want to understand why the ACLU is not into free speech anymore? They have $750 million not to be into free speech anymore. Now, how did the ACLU get so big? They dumped the whole free speech thing, nobody cares about free speech, we don’t believe in free speech. That’s hate speech now. And they got involved in everything else politically, but mainly, they also got involved in elections.
Now, when you think about the ACLU, you probably don’t think about elections so much, and yet here’s one of the things the ACLU does. They spent about $800,000 doing commercials for Stacey Abrams and they’re not alone, they’re not unique. Now the ACLU is a 501c3; it is not supposed to be engaging in this kind of behavior. It is a nonprofit. It’s 501c4 is supposed to advocate for issues, but it’s not supposed to support particularly individual candidates. And yet the ACLU does that in a very, very big way and it’s not alone.
Now, the fun thing about Stacey Abrams, who will continue to be the Governor of Georgia and the president — the space president of Earth, is that Stacey Abrams, yes, she loses all the elections, but she finds so many ways to cash in on this. She should not be in politics, she should be in Wall Street. And she’s the queen of C4s and C3s of these nonprofit operations, which it turns out, recently we found out that her $25 million voting rights lawsuit, which all the Democrats were giving money to, about $9 million of that went to her campaign chairwoman’s law firm.
So this is how it works. They take the C3, which is a complete nonprofit, they give it to the C4. Then they turn it over to their campaign. This is the model for Democrat campaign operations. It’s why so much of their funding is actually nonprofit. It is vastly bigger than anything that we ourselves are spending on elections. And there have been complaints about this, there are complaints about this all the time. The State of Georgia is investigating Stacey, they’ve been doing it for a while, and that’s a good thing.
The IRS, of course, is not going to touch Stacey Abrams. There was an IRS complaint about her from a conservative organization dating back quite a while. And the IRS said, look, there’s a conservative [score] over there. And that is of course, exactly what we expect the IRS to do. We did not seriously expect the IRS to do anything.
They did nothing about Mark Zuckerberg. When he spent hundreds of millions of dollars in partisan election funding, the IRS and the FEC did absolutely nothing. Sadly, sadly — please give a big aww — Mark Zuckerberg has a few hundred million dollars less to spend this year on rigging elections. Wouldn’t it be a shame if he lost even more money and couldn’t — there’s a little karma there. He spent hundreds of millions of dollars on election rigging and he lost billions of dollars. No, maybe there was just a higher power out there. Whatever we do, whatever we don’t do, maybe there’s a higher power that settles scores.
Whatever activism we do, and we have to do a lot of activism, we should remember that there is a God up there who has his own ways of reckoning and settling scores. [Applause]. But of course, here on earth, we have to talk about what is going on. Zuckerbucks is just the tip of a very, very big iceberg. And what that means is that Democrat operations — Democrats use nonprofits to build campaign operations on a large-scale for elections.
Now, let’s take a number of ways that works. One of the things that campaigns do is they take out ads. I’ve shown you how the ACLU and other organizations take out ads on behalf of Democrats who are operating as nonprofits. A big one, and this is really the biggest one, is voter registration. This is where Democrats have a massive advantage. When you want to understand what happens in midterms, when we are actually outplayed, when they get far more voter turnout, the integral part of this machine is voter registration, and most Democrat voter registration is handled by non-profits.
Take for example the Southern Poverty Law Center. Sorry about the accent. Sorry, was there booing? I’m a big fan of the Southern Poverty Law Center. The Southern Poverty Law Center back in the day helped put me on the map. I was added to their list of hate groups. Even though I’m one man, they still put me on their list of hate groups. I was up there with a brand of gun oil and a bar sign in Pennsylvania. I’m not making this up, but the Southern Poverty Law Center these days, like all the other leftist organizations, is now big into election funding. And they announced that they’re going to spend $100 million on voter outreach and registration.
Now, the Southern Poverty Law Center, of course, totally nonpartisan, is a 501c3, that means it should not be getting involved in elections in any kind of way. Of course it is. What’s interesting about it is what we’re seeing with the ACLU with the Southern Poverty Law Center is that they are supplementing different areas of Democrat campaigns. When you stop to think about these organizations, they’re not just messaging anymore, they’re not just engaging in welfare. There are components of Democrat voter turnout, voter outreach, and voter messaging.
And even when the media’s going bankrupt, the Democrats find ways to step in. One of the interesting things we reported on recently was that the Democrats had a fake news campaign, and I don’t mean just the regular media. They had fake newspapers set up in swing states that were actually operating out of offices in Florida, and they would pretend to be the Bucks County Times and other organizations. And again, all this was funded by a 501c3.
Now, the Southern Poverty Law Center sent its money to, among others, the ACLU. See how all of this fits together? It’s a bunch of Russian nesting dolls. They sent it to William J. Barber’s Poor People’s Campaign. It’s of course appropriate for the Southern Poverty Law Center to be funding the Poor People’s campaign, none of which do anything for poor people except maybe the poor people picking through their dumpsters for their leftover caviar.
They also gave money to the Black Voters Matter Fund, which boasted about enabling massive turnout that helped elect Biden, Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock. So again, when you want to understand what’s going on in politics, you have to see this dark force that we are funding, that our taxpayer dollars are subsidizing because again, they are nonprofits. They’re tax deductible despite being campaign operations.
Now, just to get a sense of how big this is, I keep talking about the tip of the iceberg. George Soros is the Open Society and Pierre Omidyar, the eBay French-Persian billionaire. We have a lot of foreigners interfering in our elections. They put out a bulletin saying that they needed — we need to mobilize more than a billion dollars to uphold the integrity of our election process. When you want to uphold the integrity of election process, you need more than a billion dollars in private funding. That’s how it works because you’re about election integrity. (Laughter).
And earlier this year, the Voter Participation Center, which is another C3 run by Democrat strategists, spent over $100 million on voter outreach, and was taking part in Michelle Obama’s When We All Vote push. And all this is under Valerie Jarrett and all the old Obama campaign people. And again, all this is C3s. Again, when you want to understand why we’re being outplayed, the Democrats have a massive voter registration advantage. And what they’re doing here, and this is kind of money ball, they look at a particular area and they say, this area has a lot of potential Democratic voters. We’re going to go into this area and register those voters. And they do this and they do this while operating as nonprofits and it’s illegal. Don’t take it from me, take it actually from the New York Times.
The New York Times writes that nonprofits have taken advantage of provisions in the tax code that allow them to engage in the political sphere through efforts that are technically nonpartisan, like voter registration and education, with charity spending millions, hundreds of millions of dollars, for the pinpoint targeting of demographic groups that are likely to vote Democrat. This is how they’re doing it.
This is way, way beyond Zuckerbucks and we’re talking about massive amounts of money. We’re talking about billions of dollars being put into affecting the outcome of elections. Now, this is illegal. The IRS of course is not going to hold any of these people accountable. The IRS is not going to knock on Mark Zuckerberg’s door, it’s not going to knock on George Soros’ door. The guy is a Nazi collaborator. If there were anybody who’s going to be knocking on this door, we’re well past due. And boy, he’s also — he lied in his immigration process to come to the United States. He’s technically eligible for deportation. Obviously, that’s not going to happen either. So the IRS is not going to do anything. We do not entertain any illusions about that unless a Republican actually comes into the White House and kicks some ass at the IRS, right?
Now, of course, the IRS is empowered to go after conservatives instead, but we do actually have a plan. We have a battlefield strategy. I’m not just here to complain about what the IRS is not doing. I’m not just here to complain about what Washington D.C. is not doing because we know the game. Everybody I’ve talked to in conservative organizing is focusing on the states and so are we.
These midterms have been bad news for us in D.C., but there’s been some good news in various states, and we are focused on working with conservative legislators. In fact, we changed things because you know what? So many of these organizations that I have described, they are targeting conservative states. And remember what happened to the NRA when they registered and set their up their operation in New York? A leftist, a motivated leftist attorney general came after them and tried to destroy them because they had a New York address. That was an oversight; they did not see just how ruthless the left was going to get.
Trump obviously operated in New York and that, of course, gave the Attorney General in New York scope to come after him. But guess what? So many of these left-wing operations are set up in red states. The fake news operation that I mentioned, it’s got a Florida address. So many of these places, Floridians For a Fair Shake, Arizonans For Fair Wages and A Healthy Economy, North Carolinians for whatever, they are set up in red states, which means attorney generals in those states can investigate them and go after them. And if the NRA are not allowed to operate in New York, why in the hell should any of these left-wing organizations be allowed to operate in red states? [Applause].
This is where we are going on the battle space. David Horowitz has always led the way and he’s continuing to lead the way in this. David Horowitz understood that you cannot just focus on fighting yesterday’s battles, last year’s battles, last decade’s battles. The left is always innovating, it is always moving forward. It is becoming more aggressive and we have to do the same thing.
Now again, I’m going to promote the internal radical service (sic). This talks about some of what we’ve been focusing on, but we are going to work on other pamphlets that are going to show where we are moving forward and how we are getting results. The left repeatedly abuses and lies. It violates the tax code and it conducts the most violent — as again discussed in this pamphlet — operations including domestic insurgency as nonprofits. We saw this, as discussed in the pamphlet, with Black Lives Matter, with the massive transportation of illegal aliens. And recently, have you seen those pictures and videos of people defacing paintings in Europe? They’re gluing themselves to paintings, they’re throwing tomato soup at those paintings. Do you know who’s funding that?
Audience Member: Soros.
Daniel Greenfield: Well, actually, we are because behind this is an organization called the Climate Emergency Fund. It is a nonprofit with addresses at Wilshire Boulevard. It’s actually funded by a Getty Oil heiress and director Adam McCain and some other folks. I’m sure Soros has hands in there somewhere also.
Now on its IRS forms, it says that it only promotes legal and nonviolent protest. Does that look like — does any of that look like it’s legal to you? It is not. So we actually came after them. We got some of their funding cut off. That was a limited victory, but it is a victory and we should take a win wherever we can find it and we are not stopping. [Applause]. We are going to work on cutting off the funding for all these organizations. We’re going to work on ending their occupation of this country and we’re going to do it at the local level. We’re going to do it piecemeal. We’re not going to focus on the IRS until an actual Republican comes in and bring some law and order to the IRS.
We’re going to do it by working with activists locally. We’re going to do it by working with state attorney generals who are themselves very much targeted. And then they’re going to be the ones telling scary stories because the nightmare is going to be their nightmare instead of our nightmare.
Thank you for supporting the work of the Freedom Center in this, and because we can do more than just — we can do more than Joe Biden can. We can walk and chew gum at the same time. So we’re not just focused on that. We don’t actually sleep and we try to do as much as we can. So we’re going to also discuss our project for the military. I just talked about what the David Horowitz Freedom Center is doing about the disaster on Election Day, but we just had a very, very important day, Veterans Day. It is a very crucial day, and so many of the veterans that I’ve spoken to — I’m sure so many of you in this room are angry and disgusted by what is happening to today’s military because today’s military has been infiltrated by an enemy from within.
I’m going to read to you some of the quotes from the enemies of our country. Guess where they come from? “My heart starts racing like most other Black men in America, when I see those blue lights behind me. You don’t know the anxiety, the despair, the heartache, the rage — the rage — and the disappointment that comes with living in this country every single day.” Who do you think that’s coming from?
Audience Member: (Inaudible).
Daniel Greenfield: That was former Chief Master Sergeant Kaleth O. Wright, who was the top enlisted officer in the Air Force. And he was tweeting this from his official account and he described himself as a Black man who just happens to be Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force. And those of you who are Air Force veterans have some sense of how important his position is.
“We cannot be under any illusion about the fact that racism is alive and well in this country.” That comes from Admiral Michael Gilday, the Chief of Naval Operations. “The ideals of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution that I’ve sworn my entire adult life to protect have not always delivered liberty and inequality for all,” he said, barely able to contain his rage. You’ll find out rage is a theme here. That one comes from the Air Force Chief of Staff, Charles Q. Brown, Jr. “Here I am as a Lieutenant General in the United States Air Force. When I see what happened to Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, Rayshard Brooks and Louis [Gosan], that could be me.” That’s General Anthony Cotton, the Head of Air Force Global Strike Command, which puts him in charge of our nukes. He sounds like he wants to nuke us.
And this is unfortunately the theme with a lot of the top military brass that have been put into place by the woke military, by the Obama administration and by the Biden administration. As we pass Veterans Day, it’s incredibly painful to witness the betrayal and the hostility to our country from the top military echelons. When we talk about military wokeness, it’s not just political correctness, it’s not just 40 genders. It’s not just the army doing ads that are all about identity politics. This is what it’s about, it’s about hostility from the very top.
This is why David Horowitz very correctly labeled them the [desoiled] military. This does not mean that the rank and file military, the men and women who are putting themselves in harm’s way, who are serving, who are giving so much, are themselves [desoiled]. It means that the political generals who have been put into place to transform the military are [desoiled]. These quotes are some of the nation’s top military leaders suggesting that this country is not worth defending, that it is illegitimate. These days, they talk a lot, not about their oath to the Constitution, but about defending democracy. And as we know, defending democracy means defending the Democrat Party.
Now, what’s happening in the military is what we’ve seen happen in college campuses. We’ve seen the same thing play out in corporations, in the entertainment industry, in so many areas of life. This is what is called woke capture. The left is taking over another institution and the military is obviously a huge, huge target for them. And this is the theme of how Obama and Biden destroyed the greatest military the world has ever seen. Again, another project of David Horowitz and the David (sic) Freedom Center, which I was honored and privileged to work on.
This is the second pamphlet. We’re going to continue working on more because we believe this is a very, very urgent issue. Much as we have to continue fighting for our country when it comes to elections, we have to continue fighting for our country when it comes to its institutions, particularly its military. Now, when we talk about the takeover of the military, what does that mean? At a most basic level, the left wants to be able to set the agenda by describing everything as national security.
This is something that Robert Spencer delved into a little bit. I’m going to talk about the big picture of how that plays out. Now, there’s a recent Supreme Court case about affirmative action. Asian students in North Carolina at Harvard complained that they were being excluded systematically, racially discriminated against. The left likes to talk about systemic racism. Affirmative action is actually systemic racism, and they sued over this. They brought the case to the Supreme Court and the Biden Solicitor General got up and told the Supreme Court that affirmative action — that allowing colleges to discriminate racially against Asian and white students is a national security issue. And a number of former generals and admirals actually filed an amicus brief and said, yes, this is a national security issue; you have to let us racially discriminate because it is a national security issue.
Now how is that a national security issue? Well, the Biden administration declared that diversity, equity and inclusion for the military is a national security issue. We’re not going to have military readiness unless we engage in racial discrimination. As Air Force Chief of Staff Brown claimed, “If we don’t have this, if we don’t have the wokeness and the quota systems, we’re not going to have anybody who’s going to join to fight Russia and China.” You know what? Nobody’s joining to fight Russia and China now.
As Secretary Pompeo discussed last night, the Army has a horrible recruiting crisis. It’s going to be down 20,000 personnel by the end of the year. The Army National Guard has said that it has the worst recruiting crisis in 20 years, and this is with the Army offering $20,000, $10,000, $50,000 signing bonuses. At this point, they’re going to give you a $10,000 bonus if you just show up to basic training in 30 days. Any takers, $10,000, and they’re still having trouble getting people.
The Air Force and the Navy have been handing out their own unprecedented bonuses. They’re competing against each other to offer money and they’re all having basic problems with recruitment. This is, of course, because the military has become woke because it’s fundamentally alienating. And it’s not hard to figure out how this works.
You may have seen this poll earlier this year. People, Americans, were asked how many of them would stay and fight for this country if America were invaded? 68% of Republicans said they would stay and fight. Only 40% of Democrats said they would stay and fight. Now the Democrats are running the military, yet only 40% of them would actually stay and fight for this country. 61% of white people, 57% of Hispanics, and only 38% of Black people said they would stay and fight. So when the military is trying to reimagine itself along the lines of diversity and becoming left wing, it is driving out the people who actually want to fight for this country and replacing them with the people who don’t want to fight for this country.
The Biden administration caused the worst military recruiting crisis in a generation. Then it goes to the Supreme Court and says, well, we have to continue doubling-down on this and we have to actually force colleges to continue this racially discriminating because it’s a national security issue. Now guess what? Everything is now a national security issue. Global warming, of course, it’s a national security issue. “Climate change is an existential threat to our nation’s security and the Department of Defense must act swiftly and boldly to take on this challenge,” Secretary of Defense Austin stated.
Remember when Al Gore was saying we should declare war on global warming and people laughed at him. This is now the official policy of the United States military, which is good news because when we drop our nukes, we’re going to recycle them afterward. (Laughter).
Abortion, what do you think? Is abortion a national security issue? Abortion, is that a national security issue?
Audience Member: Of course.
Daniel Greenfield: Of course. So you know Rand, which of course, every good leftist hated in the ’60s and ’70s before taking it over, the Rand think tank put out a paper for the Defense Department, which said how the Dobbs decision could affect national security, and warns that the inability of female service members to promptly kill their babies would lead to higher healthcare, childcare, and education costs for the military. So you’ve got to kill the babies to make sure that we’ve got full military readiness because women play an integral role in the U.S. military. A threat to their health and wellbeing is a potential threat to our national security.
Of course, we can again sneer at this, but the bottom line is what they’re asserting is that protecting abortion is a national security issue. It means courts are going to defer to this, and of course, it means that they can treat people who are anti-abortion as national security threats. Are you opposed to environmentalism? Are you opposed to abortion? You’re a threat to national security, that’s what this means.
Now what about the transgender sexual mutilation of kids? Can we possibly — can anybody in their right mind suggest that transgender mutilation of kids, that grooming and abusing and destroying kids is a matter of national security?
Audience Member: No.
Daniel Greenfield: Of course, Gina Ortiz Jones, the Under Secretary of the Air Force and the first half-Asian lesbian woman of color in this role, I’m sure the first of many, she’s breaking glass ceilings over there, threatened Texas, which actually was one of the first states to impose restrictions on mutilating kids; that the healthcare and resilience of our personnel and their families is our top priority. It’s essential to our ability to accomplish this mission. We are closely tracking state laws and legislation to ensure we prepare for and provide legal resources to those families that are affected.
You’ve got the Under Secretary of the Air Force threatening states, threatening state legislators, completely wildly unacceptable, and warning that if you pass laws preventing the sexual mutilation of kids, the Air Force is going to come after you because it is a national security issue. It is essential to our mission that kids be mutilated, it’s essential to our mission. Now, the mission at this point is not winning wars. It’s not defeating China, it’s not beating Iran. The mission is climate change, it’s global warming, it’s sexually mutilating kids, it’s abortion, it’s affirmative action. It’s every leftist identity politics issue. And that mission, of course, is a betrayal of this country. It is a betrayal of the oath that so many of these people took to serve in the military in the first place.
The left obviously does not want a military that will actually go to war against foreign countries and defeat them. We have profoundly [unserious] tweeters. I recently saw an interview with an ISIS captive who discussed how the terrorists fed her their own — her own son, her own 1-year-old son. We’ve seen what China has done with zero Covid. Iran recently voted to execute as many as 50,000 of the people involved in the Women’s Rights protests.
The Russians have taken horrendous casualties in Ukraine and they’re still fighting. They have serious leaders. They are dedicated to winning at any cost. We are not. The world saw that in Afghanistan, it’s seen that elsewhere. We are not actually ready to walk the distance. And then so instead, the military’s focusing on wokeness because that is so easy and they like this idea. They like the idea of gutting the military and wearing its carcass. The military has a lot of cache. Even the most anti-military leftist, when the opportunity arises, will adopt a military cache.
Anybody remember “I’m John Kerry and I’m reporting for duty.” The same guy was throwing his medals over the White House fence. Whether that happened or not was of course, no, he’s, he’s a patriot and a hero. Of course, they now have a lot of other patriots and heroes like a guy named Rick [Levine] from Pennsylvania. He’s the biggest embarrassment to the state not named John Fetterman, and actually argue it’s a close race. Now, one day Dr. Rick Levine decided that he was going to be a woman, and he changed his name to Rachel. And then Biden decided that Admiral Rachel Ravine should be a four-star admiral. He had no military experience whatsoever, he had never been in the Navy. I’m not sure he was even on a cruise; maybe he was on the cruise. But Biden decided to take this guy and make him a four-star admiral.
Now say whatever you will about John Kerry, he was always actually in Vietnam. The Biden administration is taking guys who wear dresses and wigs and turning them into four-star admirals. So when we talk about the corruption of the military brass, we are dealing with people who are not in any way remotely connected to the military tradition of service, who have never put their lives on the line, who have never even done the [Buttigieg] thing necessarily, where they’re driving around occasionally so they can score points so they can run for public office. We are talking about people whose big achievement in the case of Admiral Rachel Ravine, who’s being named Woman of the Year by USA Today — it’s baby, you’ve come a long way. (Laughter).
Now, here are some of the things that Democrats have been describing as national security issues. Racism is a national security issue, sexism is a national security issue, income inequality is a national security issue. When the Democrats put forward their For the People Act to federalize elections to make sure they could never lose an election again, how did they describe it? Democratic reform and voting rights in the United States is a national security issue. Basically every single thing they want to do is a national security issue. Anybody who opposes them is a national security threat, as we’ve seen with RussiaGate and so many other things since, because when you declare something a national security issue, suddenly, you have a lot of tools for dealing with it and dealing with the people involved in opposing it.
This information on social media, which the Democrats say is anybody disagreeing with them, that is of course a national security issue. It’s been described as officially a threat to the Department of Defense’s National Security Mission. If you post something they don’t like, you are a threat to the mission of the Department of Defense. Now, to make this work, obviously, the left needed to take over the military, which they’re very steadily doing, and they want to turn into a platform for their agendas. Reason number one we discussed. They want to make everything into a national security issue.
Reason number two, of course, is if they control the military, it cannot be used against them. When the Black Lives Matter mobs were besieging the White House, they had set the Church of Presidents on fire, they were attacking the White House gatehouse. None of that’s discussed in the media. President Trump asked General Milley to actually help and protect the United States from a domestic insurrection and Milley said, No, no, no, of course not. Reason number three, of course matches number two, which is that they want to have the option of using the military against us.
Now, to do that, they have to clear out so many of the conservatives from the military, which takes us to reason number four, which is that the military is primarily a conservative institution. It’s the only remaining institution of the federal government, that is sizeable and that is primarily conservative. So they need to clear it out and they’re doing it with various ways: vaccine mandates, hunt for extremists, pushing identity politics. All this is calculated to have two effects. One of them is to recruit leftists and the other two is to push out conservatives.
Now, under the Biden administration’s definition of extremism, if you like the wrong Facebook post and you’re a member of the military, you can be classified as an extremist who does not belong in the military. If you donate to a church that, for example, disagrees with gay marriage, you are now a dangerous extremist who can be forced to leave the military. This is what’s going on here and this is what David Horowitz’s Freedom Center has been tracking. We’ve taken a leadership role on this because we believe that the military is vital not just to our national security, but to our national identity, to our fabric of our nation.
Now, I mentioned Veterans Day and the recruiting crisis earlier. With a volunteer military, so many of those who serve are a link in the chain that goes back to Valley Forge, that goes back to Gettysburg, that goes back to Normandy. What some people who are civilians don’t realize is that so many of the service members come from military families. They come back to people who were there at the Revolutionary War, the Civil War and World War II. They sent their children and their grandchildren and so on and so forth, generation after generation, to put their lives on the line for this country. It’s been an incredible chain of tradition and it is part of the great secret to our success in wartime operations. And yet this is a chain that is being broken.
So many of the military families I’ve spoken to have told me, they are telling their kids not to serve. And once that chain is broken, it is going to be very, very hard to repair and that is a huge tragedy. It’s going to undermine our country, whatever happens, for generations to come. That is why we think it is so vitally important.
The left right now wants to declare war on global warming on anybody who’s opposed to abortion and [disinformation]. What they’re really saying is they want to declare a war on us, and to do that, they have to be able to take over the military. They have to be able to drive conservatives out of the military; they have to be able to tell those kids not to even bother showing up. The Citadel, which went very well, for example, its recruitment dropped 25%. This is happening in military academies and service branch academies across the country unfortunately. The left is eliminating our military at the source, and this is what the left is doing as it’s done to so many institutions.
What effect is this having on the military? The Heritage Review ranked the army now as weak; it ranked the Air Force and the Navy as very weak. It’s warned that there is little doubt that it would struggle in a war against a pure competitor. That means like Russia or China. It warned that it is a significant risk of not being able to meet a single major regional conflict. No, just the thing you want to hear when we’re facing off with China, and Russian planes are buzzing us in Alaska. China now has more warships than we do. We recently held war games, which played out the scenario where China invades Taiwan. Biden’s talking about, well, of course, we’re going to defend Taiwan, we’re going to defend Taiwan.
How is that actually played out in military war games? Every time we do this in military war games, the United States loses. And what gets even worse is that the former Deputy Chief of Staff Strategy warned that not only are we losing to China, not only are we continuing to lose to China, we are losing faster. In each war game, we are losing to China even faster. Not only are we not getting better in this woke military, we are getting worse. And how bad is the scenario? They project something that’ll make Pearl Harbor look like a walk in the park. They show the Chinese taking out our aircraft carriers, sinking our ships, destroying our planes before they can even take off, smashing our bases and cutting of our forces electronically so that we’re in the dark.
Now this is what the Space Force was actually meant to be doing; that’s why we spun off the Space Force. What is the Space Force actually doing now? Well, their reading list includes a book about white rage, that’s the mission now, that is the mission. We are not ready for serious war because we don’t have serious leadership, either political or military. Our military has been rotted through. Its headed by political generals, cocktail party admirals and aspiring consultants for defense contractors.
When World War II came in, one of the important things that we did, anybody who was interested in history and military history knows, they took the political generals and they kicked them out. They took out the people who were blocking the adoption of Air Force doctrines and military doctrines, and that allowed us to take on Nazi Germany and win. If we had been stuck with the political generals, we would’ve lost, and this is in the past, what we used to do in wars. We had the political generals who were very good at schmoozing politicians, and when war came, we brought in the people who knew how to fight.
After September 11, we never brought in the people who knew how to fight. That is the great tragedy. So many of them remained colonels, so many of them remained lieutenant colonels. They never moved up to the ranks, but we have our political generals. And so these political generals, they know that we’re going to lose. General Milley knows that we’re going to lose; that’s why he was on the phone with China promising, don’t worry, nothing’s going to happen.
Is this what you do when you’re arguing, when you’re operating from a position of strength? Do you tell China, don’t worry, we’re not doing anything, everything’s okay. Remember Ronald Reagan’s the bombs are going to fall? That is how you intimidate an enemy. That is how you tell them, we are not afraid of you. General Milley is communicating to China, we are afraid of you, and China knows that we’re afraid of them. They know that we keep losing war games to them. So General Milley expects us to lose a war, and so they’re not talking about how to win a war. They’re talking about how we need diversity, how we need critical race theory, how we need abortion, and how we need Admiral Rachel Levine doing the can-can to inspire the morale of the troops.
(Inaudible) brass claims that the military isn’t up to spec because we don’t focus enough on identity politics. Joe Reeder, Bill Clinton’s Army Under Secretary, who is white, by the way, claimed that if a young Black soldier can’t look up there and see a Colin Powell in his ranks, he’s not even going to want to fight. That would’ve come as news to Medal of Honor recipient Webster Anderson, who after taking two Vietcong grenades that blew off his legs, propped himself up on the parapet and continued to direct howitzer fire upon the closing enemy, and encourages men to fight on, another grenade came at him. He tried to grab the grenade to throw it back. It exploded, taking out much of his hand, and even though only partially conscious and severely wounded, he refused medical evacuation and continued to encourage his men. Webster Anderson was Black, but so many Medal of Honor winners, so many of our veterans come from all races and backgrounds.
The military was a place that transcended identity politics. It was the essence of America, it was a place that said, we are all Americans, we are all on the same team. Whatever our race, whatever our creed, we have each other’s back. This was the paradigm of the military. The military helped reshape and transform America. It helped make a diverse and tolerant America and yet this is what they’re now trying to destroy. They’re turning the military into the embodiment of the opposite, into a place based on racial division, on division by your skin color, by your gender, by whether you pretend to be another gender. They’re using the military to divide America because that is their strategy.
And the David Horowitz Freedom Center is fighting back. We’re continuing to expose this in our pamphlets, in our articles, and we are working with local patriots, with veterans’ organizations. We are working with the alumni of military academies, and we’re talking to legislators to tell them what they can do about this. They’re men who risked their lives on the battlefields of Vietnam and Afghanistan, who are fighting a war at home against an enemy within that is now taking the high ground in the Army, in the Navy, in the Air Force, even unfortunately in the Marine Corps. They’re not about to give up and we’re not giving up either.
We’re going to fight the woke who are against our military before it destroys us all, and we’re going to fight every battle that needs to be fighting. We’re going to follow in the footsteps of David Horowitz who led the way on this. And though David Horowitz can’t be with us, he is still leading us, he is guiding us. Everything that we do comes from the direction that David Horowitz is giving us. There’s not a day when I’m not on the phone with David Horowitz when he says, “You need to be doing this, you need to be doing that. You need to be fighting this. Why are we not doing this?” In this war, David Horowitz is our general. The pamphlets you’re seeing, the books that you’re seeing, they’re just partial evidence of that. David Horowitz has an incredible visionary mind. He is a warrior, he is our general. Thank you for supporting our fight. Thank you for supporting his fight. [Applause].
Male Speaker: We do have time for maybe one or two questions. Does anyone have a question for Daniel before we move to our next speaker? Right, Judy.
Audience Member: So Daniel, it’s not really a question, but I do commiserate and I’ll tell you why. I had an organization called the Israel Independence Fund and we raised money. We’re a 501c3 for projects in Israel and everything’s fine and good. We incubate so many organizations that people know about today, but if it wouldn’t be for us, they wouldn’t be. Anyway, during the Obama administration, our bank account was with Citibank and it was closed. No reasons why, why it was closed. Actually, Daniel Pipes wrote about it in one of his articles but — so I have been a victim already.
Daniel Greenfield: The Obama era was the (indiscernible) days, it was an absolute nightmare. A number of pro-Israel and conservative groups were targeted by this. You probably are familiar with the Z Street case where they sued and eventually, they had some evidence there. But of course, by then it was all over. Now what the IRS is using there, what the Democrats are weaponizing, there is something discussed in this pamphlet. Nonprofits have to follow the public good. Now, how do you define the public good? Black Lives Matter, they have no problem with; you can commit race riots, you can conduct all sorts of crimes. You can bring illegal aliens into this country, that does not violate the public good.
But under the Obama administration, they were saying that if you are opposed to the Obama administration’s Israel policy, you are violating the public good, which is very much a political test. It means that it’s conditional on following the policy of a particular administration. It’s illegal. Z Street, I believe, eventually won their lawsuit. But of course by then, once the IRS stoppers you, it is much too late to recover, and this is a great tragedy.
I think when the Biden administration hopefully doesn’t, but becomes more engaged with Israel, they are going to start targeting nonprofits that are supporting Israeli organizations much more. And of course they’re going to start targeting conservative organizations. The Inflation Increase Act, the dirty deal that Manchin cut, that is going to put all those IRS agents to work and what are they going to do? One of those things that they’re going to do is they’re going to act as the political enforcement arm for the Biden administration. They’re going to go after pro-Israel and conservative groups all over again. This is something we need to very much be focused on because we are going to be in this war again.
So thank you for what you did, and thank you for continuing to support this work because —
Male Speaker: (Inaudible) the last question.
Daniel Greenfield: Bring down the house.
Audience Member: That was superb, thank you. I’m having trouble trying to figure out what is their game plan. They’re cool with us being taken over by China, or like how do they see everything evolving?
Daniel Greenfield: Well, keep in mind, they have this magical idea that there is a right side of history. The right side of history means that we will come into a fantastic leftist socialist state. So China’s not going to take us over. If China takes us over, it’s a very good thing because China’s already communist, so it can only get better from here. The thing is, they don’t believe that we have foreign enemies. They think that the enemy, the only enemies that matter, are the enemies from within are conservatives.
They don’t operate in a world in which they’re — I know it’s hard to understand this. Let me just give you an historic precedent. During World War II, leftists, hard leftists, England was under siege and being invaded. English cities are being bombed by the Nazis. And yet leftist groups, when the United States comes into the war, American troops show up in England. They’re out there saying that the Americans are not there to fight the Nazis, they’re there to fight us. They’re there to — they’re here to break up labor rallies.
This is how insane the left is. It really does not believe that we have external enemies. It believes that we have external enemies that we have offended with our abuse of foreign policy and our capitalism and our greed. And when that goes away, all this is going to go away. They believe there are actually no enemies except enemies within, we are their only enemies.
So what you’re saying makes a lot of sense to a rational person. These people have an echo chamber world view. They do not believe we have external enemies. They do not want to fight China, Russia, Iran, they want to fight us. And they believe that once we have this perfect utopian society, there are going to be no external enemies except conservative countries. And of course, we’re going to fight and invade those countries and make them properly liberal and progressive and leftist.
So at some point, of course, we’re going to invade Israel, we’re going to invade — if the UK has a conservative government, we’re going to invade them and maybe we’re going to invade Hungary and whoever else. But they don’t really take this very seriously. What they’re focused on is consolidating control domestically. They want to invade us and they’re invading us quite effectively.
Male Speaker: Thank you, Daniel.
[Applause]

Who is our only hope?
[11] Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
[12] That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
[13] But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
[14] For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
[15] Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
[16] And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
[17] And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
[18] For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

Why don’t you try reason, rationality, and Aristotelian logic to figure out how to live successfully on earth? That is IF (and that’s a big if) the pursuit of happiness in this life on earth is truly the goal you seek.
And NO! Just because a man claims that he is being rational and logical does not mean that he is being rational and logical. Marxism claims to be rational, logical, and scientific, but it is anything but. Marxism is pure bullshit mysticism, the unreal, the illogical, and the irrational. So are Global Warming and Phrenology. So are Tarot Cards and Astrology.
Give actual reasoning about the actual facts of reality a chance! And mankind can and will figure out how to live peacefully and properously on earth, pursuing happiness.on earth.
Do you know what that actual, objective, reasoning about the facts of reality is called? It’s called Ayn Rand’s philosophy of Objectivism.

First off, why do you feel you need to troll me? Secondly, ” And mankind can and will figure out how to live peacefully and prosperously on earth, pursuing happiness.on earth”.??? What a sad joke…. when since the beginning of time has THAT happened?
At what point in time has man figured out how to live peacefully and prosperously on earth, pursuing happiness. on earth?
Since the beginning of time, and in all dispensations of time, there has been war, death, and enslavement.

The unreason of mysticism, faith, and religion did not end wars, tyranny, or slavery but have been the cause of wars, tyranny, and slavery. Theocracy IS tyranny and that’s where serious religion takes you. And competing theocracies are war. To the extent and degree that reason leashed and re-directed the interpretation of Holy Scripture towards a this-world rationality, to that extent Judeo-Christanity then became more rational and therefore more defanged, more neutered, more rational.
This pro-reason development (the Renaissance which means the rebirth of reason and the Age of Enlightenment) did not occur in the Musim world that is why Islam, still practiced and taken seriously in its pure form, leads to the brutality of religous unreason in its pure and serious form.
When men abandon reason or haven’t dicovered it, force and brutality, are their only alternative.

I was just listening to Lenny Kravitz’s song, “It Ain’t Over ’til It’s Over”. One has to remember all the people that never made it to twenty, or thirty, or forty. As they say in the Marine Corps “Never, ever, give up!”
My personal hero for the last few years has been New Jersey Navy veteran Ray Boutwell. At 90 years of age, having lost his wife, he was so filled with boredom and loneliness that he decided to open up his own business, a bakery, “Ray’s Boozy Cupcakes”. Unfortunately the damn Comunist-Democrats and their attack on human happiness, independence, ability, and success which they called “Covid Lockdown To Save Humanity” brought his fledgling business down. Altruism-collectivism is a killer.
“Collectivism does not preach sacrifice as a temporary means to some desirable end. Sacrifice is its end—sacrifice as a way of life. It is man’s independence, success, prosperity, and happiness that collectivists wish to destroy…. The advocates of collectivism are motivated not by a desire for men’s happiness, but by hatred for man . . . hatred of the good for being the good; . . . the focus of that hatred, the target of its passionate fury, is the man of ability.” – Ayn Rand

And still more spam. Lenny Kravitz? Really. One of the “giants” in rock.

The American dream is ,indeed tuning into an American nightmare. Largely because pseudo “president “Joe Biden is now sitting in the Oval Office of the White House posing as a genuine Chief Executive of the United States.
This is a reminder that the former US President, Theodore Roosevelt , in a speech, rightly, declared “There can be no fifty-fifty Americanism in this country. There is room here for only one hundred percent Americanism, only for those who are Americans and nothing else.”
Yes. that statement very true. Therefore, Having that unAmerican character , Joe Biden ,masquerading as a real US President is not only absurd it’s also a abomination . So much so that Biden entering the Office of the US Presidency on January 20, 2021 was and is a catastrophe for this country.
