If you thought Mayor Muriel Bowser was the worst actor in D.C. government, you haven’t met AG Karl Racine.
Here was Racine’s response after BLM mobs assailed and terrorized the city, attacking the White House, trying to set fire to a church, and vandalizing American memorials. You won’t be surprise that it’s a complete whitewash of the racist mobs and a string of smears and lies aimed at law enforcement.
Today, as the District reels from a night of chaos sparked by a tyrannical president, local government must offer a promise to all residents: we are with you, and we will protect you.
The entire country watched as Donald Trump ordered federal law enforcement and military police to assault peaceful protesters and clergy exercising their constitutional rights—unconscionably, for a photo opportunity. He intended to shift the conversation away from police brutality. Instead, he gave it a prime-time screening.
In the District, we are now reckoning with an unhinged president responding to nonviolent demonstration with war-like tactics. District residents are frightened by what this show of federal force may portend—whether tear gas, rubber bullets, and low-flying helicopters will give way to more destructive means. The moment demands a unified response from local leaders and law enforcement. We—the Mayor, the Council, OAG, and MPD—must commit to standing in between our community and the boot of tyranny. And we must act on this commitment. We must start by promising to defend our residents from harm while they engage in peaceful, nonviolent protest.
Unsurprisingly, Racine’s response to the prospect of conservative protests over the rigged election is very different.
“My level of anxiety is high. My preparation is even more intense than that,” Racine told CBS News chief Washington correspondent Major Garrett in this week’s episode of “The Takeout” podcast. Racine is worried the far-right, white supremacist group known as the “Proud Boys” will return to the District and “pick fights, create damage, damage property, and then act in a very threatening way” towards historic Black institutions in the city like the group did in mid-December 2020.
You mean like vandalizing war memorials and statues? Oh right, that’s Racine’s own hate group.
“Our system works when we respect people equally and don’t make distinctions just based on politics,” Racine said.
Unrelated, but hilarious since Racine stood with violent racist mobs because of their politics and race, while is now threatening protesters coming to a protest that hasn’t even happened yet.
Just call Racine the modern Bull Connors who likes the whole boot of tyranny against mostly peaceful protesters, when he’s got the dogs and the firehoses.
But also please grant this corrupt nest of rats their own state.
Racine also advocated for Congress to grant statehood to Washington, D.C.
“If you believe in the fight at the Boston Tea Party, no taxation without representation, then you should be an ardent supporter of D.C. statehood.” Racine said.
The Tea Party was about taking power from government, not turning a government city that has vast amounts of power already into its own damn state.
If Racine and his fellow Dems wanted representation, they’d be advocating for retrocession to Maryland. They bitterly oppose the idea because D.C. doesn’t want representation, it wants power.
And it represents everything that the Boston Tea Party fought against.
Finally, John Adams stated that one of his proudest moments was acting as counsel for the British soldiers in the Boston Massacre. That’s a commitment to fairness and equality under the law that Racine and his fellow lefties can’t even begin to comprehend. It’s why Racine stood with the racist Black Lives Matter mobs, but is already criminalizing the upcoming election protests.
