On Feb. 4, an American television audience watched the nation’s oldest political party commit mass suicide.
In front of the Treasury Building in Washington, D.C., many of the Democratic Party’s most well-known Congressional figures gathered to whine about the zero-based budget analysis being conducted by Elon Musk, the billionaire who leads the ad hoc Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Musk is discovering that the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) effectively became a slush fund for “progressive” Democrats to launder money and finance political vanity projects and graft. Recipients included organizations associated with George Soros, Bill Gates and Chelsea Clinton; hers alone received $84 million from the agency.
Comments from Congressional Democrats are beyond telling.
“Elon Musk is a Nazi nepo baby, a godless, lawless billionaire,” Rep. Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts shouted, receiving enthusiastic cheers. “This is the American people. This is not your trashy cyber truck that you can just dismantle, pick apart and sell the pieces of.
“We are not done agitating. We will see you in the courts, in Congress, in the streets.”
Rep. LaMonica McIver of New Jersey agreed.
“We will not take this (excrement) from Donald Trump and Elon Musk; we will fight back,” screamed McIver, who promised to “shut down the city. We are at war!”
Those and similar comments reflect more than irresponsible agitation. They expose the Democratic Party as out of ideas. The Democrats have nothing but corruption and intimidation — as Musk and President Donald Trump are ruthlessly revealing.
The Democrats themselves know they constitute a spent force. They admitted as much 48 hours earlier while concluding a conference to elect a new party chairman.
“In private meetings and at public events, elected Democrats appear leaderless, rudderless and divided,” wrote the New York Times’ Lisa Lerer and Reid J. Epstein, who added that the party “is struggling to define what it stands for” and “what issues to prioritize.”
“They disagree over how often and how stridently to oppose Mr. Trump,” Lerer and Epstein continued. “They have no shared understanding of why they lost the election, never mind how they can win in the future. The tepid race for D.N.C. chair illustrated the lack of a broad party message that goes beyond attacking Mr. Trump to offer a new vision.”
The Democrats put themselves in that position by embracing ideological radicals, an educated class infatuated with them and the billionaire oligarchs who fund them, such as Soros. That explains the abuse of USAID. In the process, the party embraced the absolute contempt those radicals and their acolytes have for the rest of society, as FrontPage Magazine often reported.
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris illustrate both sides of the problem. As FrontPage recently discussed, Biden felt so insulated from accountability that he believed he could get away with insulting prospective voters during his 2020 Presidential campaign. In previous decades, any candidate would receive pervasive, unrelenting criticism for such behavior.
The virtual president even threatened to withhold school lunches from low-income students in 2022 if their schools refused to implement pro-transgender policies.
In 2024, Harris made a point of making legalized abortion the centerpiece of her own presidential campaign. By doing so, she told American voters two things. First, neither she nor her party have any answers to the broader questions posed by domestic and international problems. Second, her party’s base is far too narrow.
David Brooks, the New York Times’ token faux-conservative, described the current Democratic Party as “the party of the universities, the affluent suburbs and the hipster urban cores,” while honestly confronting his own class’s myopia.
“Those of us in the educated class decided, with some justification, that the postindustrial economy would be built by people like ourselves, so we tailored social policies to meet our needs,” Brooks wrote. “Meanwhile, vocational training withered. We shifted toward green technologies favored by people who work in pixels, and we disfavored people in manufacturing and transportation whose livelihoods depend on fossil fuels.
“Society worked as a vast segregation system, elevating the academically gifted above everybody else. Here was a great chasm of inequality right before their noses and somehow many Democrats didn’t see it. Many on the left focused on racial inequality, gender inequality and LGBTQ inequality. High school graduates … don’t speak in the right social justice jargon or hold the sort of luxury beliefs that are markers of public virtue.”
Though Brooks called Trump “a monstrous narcissist,” he admitted “there’s something off about an educated class that looks in the mirror of society and sees only itself.”
Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman defined his party’s problems more bluntly.
“I think their primary currency,” he said, “was shaming and scolding and talking down to people and telling them ‘Hey, I know better than you,’ or ‘You’re dopes,’ or ‘You’re a bro,’ or ‘You’re ignorant’ or, ‘How can you be this dumb? I can’t imagine it. And then, by the way, they’re fascists. How can you vote for that?’
“I know and I love people that voted for Trump, and they’re not fascist,” Fetterman added. “They don’t support insurrection and those things. If you go to an extreme, and you become a boutique kind of proposition, then you’re going to lose the argument — and we have done that.”
As they performed an autopsy on Harris’ failed efforts, two Democratic insiders who managed successful presidential campaigns advised their party to pay serious attention to the legitimate concerns of ordinary Americans.
“Democrats have flat-out lost the economic narrative,” wrote James Carville, who guided President Bill Clinton’s 1992 and 1996 victories. “The only path to electoral salvation is to take it back. Perception is everything in politics, and a lot of Americans perceive us as out to lunch on the economy — not feeling their pain or caring too much about other things instead.”
Rahm Emanuel, who managed President Barack Obama’s successful 2008 and 2012 campaigns, agreed.
“With inflation stinging, school absenteeism skyrocketing and students’ academic scores plummeting,” Emanuel wrote, “Democrats consumed themselves in debates over pronouns, bathroom access and renaming schools and adopted terms such as ‘care economy’ and ‘Latinx’ to win over voters. It was a hermetically sealed conversation with ourselves, and we appeared much as we sounded: distant and detached.”
But addressing the legitimate needs of ordinary Americans in a coherent, practical way means abandoning the anti-Trump histrionics and the “woke” narrative those same Americans rejected in November. Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett admits the problem but disregards the solution.
“We have no coherent message,” she said. “This guy (Trump) is psychotic. There’s so much but everything that underlines it is white supremacy and hate. There needs to be a message that is clear on at least the underlying thing that comes with all of this.”
The contenders for the Democratic Party’s top leadership position reflected Crockett’s view. During their debate, moderator Johnathan Capehart from MSNBC asked how many of them believed that racism and misogyny accounted for Harris’ defeat?
All the contenders raised their hands. One even raised both her hands.
“That’s good,” Capehart replied. “You all passed.”
The ongoing USAID scandal represents the Democrats’ biggest challenge since the Civil War, when that party defended slavery. But instead of initiating their own reforms, Democrats rely on agitprop.
On Feb. 7, in response to Trump’s executive order dissolving the Department of Education, about a dozen Congressional representatives effectively formed a mob and demanded entrance to the department’s locked building, claiming Congressional privilege. Led by California Rep. Maxine Waters — who has incited mob action before — the representatives tried to intimidate the lone security guard. Police from the Department of Homeland Security had to be called to disperse the mob.
Either the Democrats confront their own corruption and condescension, or American history will record their boisterous political theatrics as the dying screech of an increasingly irrelevant party.
These freak-out videos are fun to watch.
I feel their pain…..and LOVE to see it. •°°°
The Dems are in full retreat, on the brink of annihilation. Man, if there was ever a Hitler comparison, it’s not us, it’s them. Germany 1945, with the Americans crossing the Rhine in the west, and the Russians crossing the Elbe in the east, The Dems are surrounded by an ever tightening noose. While they may have to retreat, they will never surrender. Fanatics to the bitter end. How ugly will it get?
It’s a melodramatic scenario, I admit. But history tends to repeat itself.
Spot on, Chris! As I have posted elsewhere, the Progressive Democrats, in their attempts at demonizing their opposition (Trump in particular), will predictably turn to their favorite tyrant (Hitler), one whose party policies and tactics mirror their own.
It should be clear by now (and should have been clear many decades ago) that the Democrat Party is a criminal organization with foreign support that is masquerading as a U.S. political party. In many respects it is not unlike the NSDAP (Nazi party) of 1930’s Germany or Mao’s CCP (both of which borrowed heavily from Lenin and Stalin for their methods and ideology). The Democrat Party tactics are Stalinist-Leninist to the core, including 1) theft of elections, 2) political show trials, 3) party-controlled gulags, 4) establishment of a party police force (a la Gestapo or NKVD), 5) subversion and transformation of the military by removing those who might be a threat to the party and installing political commissars at the very top, 6) use of allies in the media to transform that sector into a propaganda arm of the party, 7) leveraging media and the corporatocracy to censor, defame, demonize, and delegitimize any opposition, 8) mafia-like control of unions, 9) use of Antifa/BLM and FBI/DoJ street thugs as provocateurs, disruptors and enforcers of party tyranny, 10) capture and subversion of the justice system through use of financial dark pools, international networks, and media allies to swing elections for DAs and control of the courts, 11) infiltration and subversion of the education sector to promote party propaganda and Marxist-Leninist ideology at all grade levels and erase/rewrite the history of the Republic, and 12) use the power of an illegitimate regime installed through a coup d’ etat and the control of the legislative branches by party apparatchiks to fund massive Maoist/Stalinist social engineering programs that dismantle the cultural, legal, financial, and institutional foundations of the Constitutional Republic.
It is way past time that this so-called “party” and its apparatchiks be treated the same as the Nazi party at the end of WWII. It is a cancer on the body of the Republic and must be excised if there is to be any hope of restoring the Republic’s Constitutional foundations and liberties that the founders bequeathed to its citizens.
I am a fairly sharp little old white lady and have watched their machinations for decades, starting when in my youth I was a radical leftie until now when they haven’t changed a bit. They began in Europe with frank communist actions and morphed to the 1930-50’s infiltration of our State Dept. They remind me of poisonous mushrooms that just keep popping up unwelcome.
But they still have an incurable biased media working for them. And now we are learning that the Democrat Party was paying them with our tax dollars to propagate their lies and smear the conservative opposition. At least some of them might go down now.
They aren’t grasping the truth and so are incapable of adjusting their world view. Trump and MAGA aren’t just wrong but evil. As long as they remain arrogant and stubborn and everything the Republicans and Trump want to do their default position is automatically in opposition. They will remain in their bubble and continue to ask why the rubes aren’t in lockstep and hanging on their every word. If you’re publicly defending waste, fraud and abuse of working Americans tax dollars,, you’re not even in the arena of ideas. Much less a “loyal opposition “.’ to be taken seriously. We have deep problems and the Democrats clown show isn’t helpful.
The Democrat Lemmings just cant stop running off the Cliff again and again
The violence-preaching Pastor Hawkes and the screeching Maxine Waters were seen together dragging their furry knuckles through the halls of Congress.
Send them to their final destination.
Furry knuckles is a racist slant. Sorry.
The Democrats are not struggling to define what they stand for; Trump has simply outmaneuvered them into forcing them to be honest and stand for government corruption. We now know that when the Democrats said “democracy” what they were talking about what their vast money laundering operation. Trump has proved once again that he is a very stable genius.
When they and their paid shills in the media say “democracy” they mean it as in “Democratic People’s Republics” of communist countries
…and yet that truth escapes most Americans.
Perhaps more are now awake but I still hear plenty of vitriolic hate against what made America exceptional.
They represent evil. And evil has been around since the dawn of time.. Solve that problem and win the proverbial Don Rickles cookie.
They couldn’t care less about the American people and what is important to us.
The arrogance of David Brooks is a scalding indictment that even their post-election introspection is NOT about genuinely connecting to and understanding Americans, but instead it is yet another self-serving ambition to find new ways of manipulating the public’s opinion of them while they justify their elite, well-educated status.
The truth of their extensive, illegal grifting through multiple Federal agencies, the vast amounts of money they have secretively stolen from the taxpayers, provides the average American with the hard evidence of their self-centered, narcissistic ambitions. They have repeatedly castigated Americans while using us as their endless, monetary resource. This diabolical platform upon which they stand, formerly seeming without redress by the people, reached its climax as their aggressive, morally repugnant policies and dogmatic propaganda fueled everyday Americans with rage. Yes, rage that we righteously funneled into fighting them and everything they stand for by revealing through researching who, what and how they operate against America, our Constitution and the people. Real investigative reporting, parents fighting against their cramming down our throats sexual deviancy as normal and other psychological perversions negating fundamental biology and then approving them to be taught to our very young children
It is through their indignant attempts to implement their long-standing, communist-based playbook that we saw them as the goose-stepping followers they are; not the American people who deeply value our freedoms as set forth in our Bill of Rights and Constitution.
Those who need to constantly control others, while endlessly screeching of their superiority, are the very ones who salivate at totalitarian regimes because while they appear to wear the garments of professed freedom, it is they who can no longer critically think for themselves and it is their notorious lack of understanding America and who we are as a country and people that speaks volumes about their pathological indoctrination.
They are the ones in chains and like the slaves they have become to their ideology….they are lost and we the people have moved on.
If I were a small businessman looking to hire, and I saw this bunch sitting in my H.R. waiting to be interviewed…
I’d close my business and file for bankruptcy.
The Left still hasn’t figured out that “educated” doesn’t necessarily mean intelligent or wise. It’s a meaningless title they hide behind.
The modern Democratic Party is all noise and no solution. They offer nothing but attitude.
Objective observers on the right can list the dozens of moral failings of the Marxist Left ad infinitum. However, in practice, the Left has no morals. Morals can only come from God. All that the Left has is their own ever-changing, man-made, fabricated Ethics because God is their blood enemy. Truth is their enemy. They are a mass-delusional, psychopathic mob of demonically-possessed, Satan worshipers who believe, truly believe that THEY are gods.
Matthew 8:28-34 seems to have foretold exactly the Democrat Marxists:
“And Christians came upon demon possessed Marxists who begged to not be killed but rather sent into the democrat party herd, which then committed suicide by running into the water and thereby drowned. The fellow-traveling townspeople screamed, wailed, and tore their garments, then blamed the Christians and kicked them out.
Yeah…that’s about right.
The “democrat’s” only hope is to pretend to approve, or simply not oppose what Trump is doing for the next two years, then rig the midterms and recapture the house and senate. Then block Trump’s agenda until 2028 when they will be able to rig a win for their candidate, partly based on Trump’s “failure” to keep all his promises. They’ll be back in the saddle again and MAGA need no longer apply.
Several years ago, I read a book called Intellectual Morons. It was about smart people who believe and do stupid things. Everybody ought to read this book, especially the introduction, that explains the basic reasons why so called smart people embrace unworkable ideas and concepts that ruin everything for everybody.
Sadly, Stephen, today even the “intellectual” part seems to have gone the way of the dodo bird — they’re just “morons” now … Thanks to scams like DEI, a Harvard “education “is nothing more than a prize in a box of Crackerjack … (yeah, looking at you Elizabeth Warren, David Hogg, et al … ) … A Harvard or Yale degree used to mean one had earned his way into the elites of society, which entitled them to run the government and other key institutions — it’s the scarlett letter of stupidity now …
I sensed the hypocrisy as soon as I entered college. Despite all the rhetoric about equality and democracy, the very existence of higher education created an unequal class structure. Graduates would move on to become professionals while others would continue to dig ditches or pick lettuce.
