For most of my adult life, climate alarmists have ruled the day as they have methodically and successfully injected their relentless fearmongering and bogus science throughout academia, the mainstream media, Hollywood, and just about every other major, powerful cultural institution. While this has paid giant dividends in recent years, it has also fueled a backlash that we are finally starting to see bubble to the surface.
Let’s begin by briefly recapping how the climate alarmists were able to hypnotize so many people into believing that climate change was an existential crisis—which it is not—in the first place.
At the end of the twentieth century and into the dawn of the twenty-first century, we began to see more and more calls for international bodies to address what they initially deemed “global warming.” In 1992, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change was born, which was intended to combat “dangerous human interference with the climate system.”
Since then, the United Nations and several other influential international organizations have pounded the climate change message while weaving a spiderweb of agreements, treaties, and protocols to mitigate the so-called climate crisis.
While these powerful global institutions were ringing the alarm bell that the future of the planet was in immediate jeopardy due to humanity’s use of fossil fuels, a network of grifters emerged who were more than ready to capitalize on the alarmist narrative.
From former Vice President Al Gore to scores of scientists, it became clear that if one jumped on the climate alarmist bandwagon in these early days, there was money to be made and government grants to be gotten.
Not much later, we began to witness high-ranking political officials from both sides of the aisle succumb to the climate alarmist narrative. For instance, way back in 2001, then-President George W. Bush was touting his administration’s climate change agenda.
Then came the cultural deluge as K-12 educators, professors, actors and actresses, TV and radio personalities, social media influencers, and even uneducated child activists from Swedenpersistently peddled the climate alarmist narrative.
However, what goes up must come down.
After more than two decades of unyielding climate alarmism, climate realism is slowly starting to take hold.
How do I know this? Because ordinary, hard-working Americans are no longer buying into climate alarmism hook, line, and sinker.
According to multiple polls, climate change is no longer a top concern for the vast majority of Americans.
Americans are finally starting to understand the truth about climate change while simultaneously becoming aware that climate alarmists have ulterior motives at hand, many of which are in direct opposition to the fundamental best interests of everyday Americans.
Thanks to courageous truth seekers like my colleagues at The Heartland Institute and many allied organizations, Americans are more able than ever to receive accurate information dispelling common myths and lies pushed by climate alarmists. As anyone can read at ClimateRealism.com, the seas are not rising and weather events like hurricanes, heatwaves, droughts, etc. are not becoming more frequent nor deadlier. In fact, in many cases, the exact opposite is occurring.
Another huge factor that helped Americans realize the dubiousness of the climate alarmist narrative is that their solutions make no sense, do not address the so-called problems, and all too often end with less liberty and more government. Apparently, Americans are beginning to understand that climate justice, for instance, is mostly about wealth redistribution and has little to do with a cleaner environment.
A few weeks ago, Americans went to the polls and clearly rejected the climate alarmist nonsense that has been hoisted upon the nation over the past four years. Without a doubt, the Biden-Harris administration has been the most zealous when it comes to climate alarmism. From nixing the Keystone XL Pipeline to mandating electric vehicles to deciding the type of appliances Americans can purchase, the Biden-Harris administration has been all-in on climate alarmism.
But this is not what the American people want. To be clear, nearly all Americans want to protect the environment and desire clean air and water.
They just don’t want their lives upended and their bank accounts drained under the guise of saving the planet. They want reliable and affordable electricity. They want cheap gasoline. And, they want the U.S. government to take full advantage of the abundant energy reserves right under our feet. This is at least partly why President-elect Donald Trump won the White House and the GOP took control of the U.S. Senate.
With Trump back in the Oval Office, we can expect U.S. energy dominance, not climate alarmism, to rule the day. That is welcome news for hard-working Americans, albeit a total nightmare for climate alarmists and the cottage industry it has spawned.
Its a shakedown so the UN can keep scamming money out of the US. ‘Trust the science’ LOL
Anyone who has been alive long enough to be a grandpa knows that the weather has warmed. The question is, “How bad is this?”. In the Devonian Era, 400 million years ago, the amount of CO2 was four times today’s. This caused a great increase in vegetation which, in turn caused the percent of Oxygen in the air to rise to 30%, not the 21% of today. Life didn’t end. We won’t end. We’ll adapt as we always have.
No more Scare Stories no more faked photos of Starving Polar Bears no more skipping Classes end the Climate Based Lawsuits and the Eco-Freaks can go back to Building Birdhouses and Feeders Cleaning up Highways and Rods and Planting Trees instead of Blocking Streets and Highways
With sanity slowly coming back and Trump coming in it will take several decades to take the Climate hysteria addicts off the drug. But when the money and the grants dry up reality will hit home, bigly.
Drill baby drill!
Careful now… careful how you position yourself with this topic.
Don’t be so quick to take sides…
Global Warming may be a farce…
But… manufacturing and controlling the weather to produce specific results has been in the working since after WWII. With great success.
Thus… Global Warming IS “man-made”… just not the way we’ve been told.
It has been “manufactured” to cause the masses to believe Global Warming exists… for implementing the Carbon Credit, Cap & Trade One World satanic, Islamic, Mark of the Beast Economic System.
I don’t see why anyone would thumb down this comment.
Funny.
On a completely desolate moor in Scotland, miles from the nearest house and road is this warning:
Under Penalty of Law, it is strictly forbidden to throw rocks at this sign.
How has the weather been manufactured and controlled?
Cloud seeding, Haarp, chemtrails of various weather changing things (aluminum among others, sodium, etc.). Just go out at look at the sky when they are crisscrossing it with chemicals. Here, it usually in the morning.
The biggest scam in the 1990’s was the Save the Rainforests Scam now its the Climate Change/Global Warming Scam
Yep, your right, anytime a political party plays the alarm card, especially climate, which is ever-changing, forget it, but be mindful and aware, but don’t get in a panic ,
How do we know that we’re heading into an abnormal period anyway? Maybe all that warming is the NORMAL climate and this current epoch is abnormal.
Even further back, in the 50s, overpopulation would kill us all from hunger and thirst due to lack of resources for everyone… there is always some apocalyptic (who has nothing else to do) and close to him, someone who is going to make money (or notoriety) with it… how old we all are and how many times have we seen the same thing?
I live in northern Nevada and last thursday the weatherman said that the record hot day was set in 1926 the record cold day was in 1982…. Things that make you go HMMMM….
Global warming happened before, in the late 18th/early 19th century. The Thames river used to freeze over in winter and now no longer does. It was largely pre-Industrial Revolution, and we had a much smaller population, so it seems to have happened independently of human beings. On what basis, therefore, is it assumed that human behaviour is responsible this time round?
London is further north than the northernmost part of Maine. It is kept (relatively) warm by the Gulf Stream. Ocean circulation has a tendency to wander. Maybe that is what caused the Thames to freeze 250 years ago not GLOBAL warming.
Just like the Left tries to do in its policy plans, the Right needs to have a long play policy that salts the ground against future climate lunacy. Congress needs to pass iron-clad laws to limit future excess on climate alarmist nonsense and safeguard energy production. Executive orders won’t cut it, as we saw when the brain-dead Biden took office, and he pretended to be dismantling them.
Officials of the IPCC have openly admitted that the “climate crisis” is first and foremost a means to advance the globalist socialist agenda of gaining power and the redistribution of wealth. “Climate crisis” adherents are motivated by religious cult aspects, political power, academic peer pressure, money, or the legacy media, but not by science.
Agreed. It was always about the revival of communism after the collapse of the USSR and the death of Mao, the horrors of the Khmer Rouge and the increasing disintegration of the Castro regime in Cuba. The Reds of the 1980s and before became the Greens of the 1990s ever since.
Maurice Strong set it up to be a method of north-south wealth transfer from the beginning. The infamous Kyoto Trading Mechanisms were the original methods of doing just that.
Alarmists play an obfuscation game to push the fiction of man-made climate change. They do this by equating climate with “environment” because “environment” also includes pollution. Everyone knows that man contributes to environmental pollution. By calling climate “environment” as well, it becomes easy to conclude that climate is affected by man too, while the reality is pollution and climate are two different things with very different causes.
Actually, a good case can be made that the planet needs to warm up because, according to recently published ice-core results, the climate is currently in an “Icehouse” state, the coldest it has ever been in the past 66 million years (see https://scitechdaily.com/66-million-years-of-earths-climate-history-uncovered-puts-current-changes-in-context/) The mantra of man-made climate change is not only false, but its goal of keeping the planet in its current state (an Icehouse) is counterproductive; life is much more active and abundant in summer than in winter.
A long long time ago in a far off distance Continent known as Northern Europe was totally covered in ICE and all we have left of that today is a tiny island called Iceland and a land mass called Greenland, which aint too green.
FYI.. No Cars, Planes,Factories or even people were involved in the destruction of all that ice.
The four reasons for a change in climate..
1) Spring.
2) Summer.
3) Autumn.
4) Winter..
And then there’s China and India. Funny how these two countries fly under the radar while the Western countries penalize their citizens with all manner of mitigation. If nothing else, the climate hoaxers know where the money is and how to extract it. Ask any Californian how much it’s costing them, in money and loss of freedoms, to “save the planet”.
Truth is the climate alarmists’ worst nightmare. “Understanding Climate Change: 97% of scientists agree with whoever is funding them”: https://daveziffer.substack.com/p/understanding-climate-change
The so-called “climate crisis” is without a doubt the BIGGEST FRAUD EVER PERPETRATED (by humans, anyway).
