You’ve gotta give Abbott, Ducey and DeSantis come credit. Their idea, albeit an old one, of putting unwanted people, in this case illegal migrants, on a bus or a plane and sending them to the big cities back east has become really popular.
So popular it’s now looking bipartisan.
“Colorado Gov. Jared Polis plans to send migrants to major cities including New York, Mayor Eric Adams said Tuesday, warning that the nation’s largest city is already struggling to deal an influx of people sent from Texas and other Republican-led states.
However, the Democratic governor told POLITICO shortly afterward that the state has been helping asylum seekers reach their final destinations — including New York City — for weeks. The only change has been a recent winter storm and ensuing travel catastrophe that created a backlog of migrants wanting to leave Denver, which is now being cleared.”
Remember folks, Republicans cruelly bus migrants to the big cities they want to go to anyway, Democrats however are just “helping asylum seekers reach their final destinations”.
It’s completely different.
Kind of like when a Republican administration bombs someone, it’s genocide, but when a Democrat does it, it’s humanitarian intervention.
Polis said that most officials dealing with an influx of migrants have been acting in good faith.
“Too many people, in our opinion, view this through a political lens or as playing politics — and it’s terrible that in some places, people have been used as political props,” he said. “But what we are doing here is just honoring our values by treating people with dignity and respect.”
Republicans bus migrants to other places because they’re cruel monsters who view them as subhuman playthings in a political game, but Democrats bus migrants because they honor their values of dignity and respect.
If you point out the obvious, you’re just “playing politics”.
And playing politics is Democrat code for “you caught us out”.
The values of dignity and respect urgently require Gov. Polis to get the migrants out of Denver.
Last month, Denver Mayor Michael Hancock declared a state of emergency and later appealed to the local Catholic archdiocese for assistance. He and Polis — both Democrats — also launched a fund to raise money to support services for migrants.
In total, Polis said the state has recently made $4 million available to assist with expenses. And while most asylum seekers who arrive in Denver are traveling to other destinations, the cost of helping them purchase bus tickets constitutes a fraction of the overall pot of cash.
If Republicans were fundraising to buy migrants bus tickets out of cities, it would be an outrage, but Democrats doing it are just honoring their values.
Either way, Dems are starting to copy their Republican counterparts in dealing with the migrant invasion. At this rate they’re going to be supporting a border wall in order to honor their values and treat migrants with dignity and respect by keeping them out of our country.
