Bitterly cold winter conditions are setting in. And the coronavirus is spreading among the National Guard troops occupying D.C. as part of Biden’s political theater. Many Republican governors stepped up to end the occupation when troops were forced to sleep in parking garages because they had offended a Democrat staffer. But Democrat governors are doubling down on the authoritarian occupation of D.C. and are deploying more soldiers to intimidate Americans.
Gov. J.B. Pritzker activated 500 Illinois National Guard troops Thursday, with plans to send them to Washington D.C. “at the request of the Department of Defense, his office announced.
“The state of Illinois continues its proud legacy of protecting our democracy,” Pritzker said claimed. “Ultimately, we must root out the dark forces of racism, white supremacy and disinformation that have created this moment.”
Responding to speech, which the Democrats now describe as “disinformation” with a military deployment is an attack on “democracy”.
Pritzker might consider sending some troops to Chicago where the weekend started with 15 people being shot.
In Michigan, Republicans are asking basic questions.
bout 1,000 members of the Michigan National Guard are deploying to Washington to help with security amid heightened concerns about further civil unrest in the capital city in the coming weeks.
In response, Republican members of Michigan’s congressional delegation are seeking an “immediate” intelligence briefing from federal officials to justify the state’s Guard returning to Washington.
The House lawmakers noted that nearly 700 of the Guard just returned to Michigan last week after serving at the U.S. Capitol during President Joe Biden’s inauguration and only had a short time with their families at home before redeploying.
Governor DeWine of Ohio, one of the few Republican governors to contribute to the Democrat military occupation of the nation’s capital, is sending more troops. But most of the governors, like Governor Andy Beshear of Kentucky, are Democrats.
Meanwhile, Republican legislators are demanding answers.
House Republicans are asking acting Army Secretary John Whitley for a briefing on threats to the U.S. Capitol that are keeping the National Guard in Washington, D.C., through mid-March.
A coalition of 11 GOP lawmakers led by Rep. Michael Waltz (R-Fla.) sent a letter on Wednesday to Whitley for information about the “the ongoing threats to the Capitol, justification of the decision for a significant troop presence through mid- March, and plans for troop utilization during the time period.”
Those are good questions. How large of a force is expected to invade D.C. that requires thousands of soldiers authorized to use deadly force?
This authoritarian political theater abuses soldiers and threatens the rule of law in America.
The D.C. Occupation needs to end.
