It failed in Vermont. It failed in Venezuela. It’s bound to succeed in New York.
Nixon recently told the New York Daily News editorial board she did not yet have a plan to pay for single-payer.
“Pass it and then figure out how to fund it,” Nixon said.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who Nixon is challenging in the Democratic primary next week, has said it should be up to the federal government to pass a universal health care system. During a debate between the two candidates last month, Cuomo said the NYHA was good “in theory,” but would cost more than New York’s annual budget to implement it “in the long-term,” according to the Albany Times Union.
Much the same issue as in California. And everywhere across the country.
But it’s not just Nixon, who’s an angry leftist clown, though the media will never call her on it, Pelosi’s most memorable quote on ObamaCare was even worse.
Leftist theories are assumed to be good unless proven otherwise. And the proof usually takes several generations and the deaths of millions of people. At which point lefties will insist that the theories were incorrectly implemented.
If Cynthia Nixon really wants socialized medicine, she should be made to live under it. And so should all her voters. It’s a closed system in which the only funding in it will come from the tax dollars of those who want to participate in it. All their taxes can go to it. (Considering how many of the people who will rush to be on it, don’t pay taxes, it’ll balance out nicely.) Shortfalls in revenues will result in the same kind of NHS cuts to services and waiting lists as in all socialized medicine. Then a year later, we can see how well it worked.
