The Democrat case against President Trump is a baseless conspiracy theory that attempts to criminalize calls for peaceful protest and election challenges as “incitement” and “insurrection”. This totalitarian behavior is bad enough, but House Democrats also keep blaming him for their own misbehavior.
“As a direct result of President Trump’s actions, the seat of our democracy has been transformed into a military camp. That is President Trump’s legacy to the Nation,” the House Democrat document rants.
We’re not a Democracy and there was no need to pile over 20,000 troops into D.C. or to leave 7,500 soldiers in D.C. through March and perhaps indefinitely.
As I originally documented, the Capitol Police have over 2,000 sworn officers. There were more than enough personnel to handle a riot.
The Capitol Police have over 2,000 sworn officers. A police force dedicated to protecting Capitol Hill has more personnel in its service than the police forces of most of the country. Congress’ private cops are the 19th largest police force in the country. It’s a larger force than the police forces of Atlanta, Baltimore, Denver, or Milwaukee with a massive $460 million budget. While Democrats advocated defunding the police, their private police force budget shot up from $375 million in 2016 to $460 million in 2020. After the Capitol Hill riot, expect it to go higher.
There was and is plenty of manpower. The failure to intelligently use it is on Congress.
The military occupation of D.C. is being prolonged even though there was nothing that happened, either during Biden’s Mussolini-esque inauguration in the middle of a city full of razor wire and military checkpoints, or since.
Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, the inept hack that Biden appointed to politically crack down on the military and purge political opponents from its ranks, has made vague noises. Other folks are crediting an FBI threat warning that proved to be utterly baseless.
Acting Army Secretary John Whitley told reporters last week that FBI briefings to the Guard had indicated that “malicious actors” may incite violence during “First Amendment-protected protests.”
No such protests have transpired, however.
This comes from the same “Bush Lied About WMD” folks. But when it comes to a military occupation of D.C., they’re fine with vague warnings about imaginary protests as the basis for an extended military occupation.
This occupation isn’t Trump’s legacy. It’s the legacy of authoritarian Democrats employing banana republic political theater to purge their opponents.
