Victory has a thousand fathers, but defeat needs a DNA test.
Consider one race in Ohio an early warning sign of the inevitable implosion of the Democrats, topped by a wildly unpopular POTUS and VP, with a lefty insurgency ravening for a takeover.
Rep. Shontel Brown beat Nina Turner. Again.
That may not be on your radar, but Turner was backed by Bernie Sanders and AOC. She was the ultimate example of the kind of insurgency that the squad hoped to unleash. And this time they thought that they had the election in the bag. The race became a showdown between Biden and Bernie and AOC.
The takeaway is that the Dem establishment isn’t finished yet and Biden isn’t ready to leave. And the Squad and the Bernie keep overestimating their effectiveness.
Twitter is not the real world and while, backed by a ton of cash, they’ve made inroads, they’re not that tough.
Privately, Pelosi and others, including Biden aides, have said as much. So why are they so afraid of them?
1. While a majority of Democrats are not on board with the far lefties, a majority of mega-donors and obsessively engaged activists are.
2. They don’t believe in anything else. There’s hardly such a thing as a moderate Democrat anymore largely because they’ve lost their belief system. If you don’t know why you’re not a socialist, except that they seem goofy, you’ll become one, or at least keep your mouth shut about not being one.
And so everything from men on womens’ swim teams to critical race theory gets absorbed.
