If it’s not one thing, it’s another.
You may call that as part of the Biden administration’s 2021 ‘Inflation Increase Act’, $7.5 billion in green welfare was allotted to Tesla and other electric car owners to build them electric car chargers.
While $7.5 billion was put toward aiding the poorest and most helpless among us, that money wasn’t even properly spent with only 55 EV chargers built.
That’s up from 0 in 2023 so at this rate of progression, we might see enough EV chargers built to accommodate the fairly small number of Tesla owners by 2062.
Trump isn’t waiting that long and he’s freezing the program to outraged howls of protest from Dems and their media.
‘Just causing havoc’: Transportation Department suspends EV charger program – Washington Post
Havoc! Allocating billions for EV chargers the vast majority of Americans don’t need and failing to build them after all these years isn’t causing havoc, but cutting off the flow of ill-gotten cash, is havoc.
States trying to build a network of EV chargers are reeling after the Trump administration abruptly ordered a halt to a $5 billion program to build the chargers on highways nationwide.
Reeling! Won’t someone please think of the EV chargers.
The order, which comes as many states are still working to build out their public chargers supported by $5 billion in grants, could strike a major blow to an industry that has experienced slower-than-expected sales and could lose critical federal tax incentives in coming months.
Just 55 charging stations have been built so far, according to data from the analytics firm Paren.
55. With $7.5 billion in grants.
I wonder how much of that 7.5 billion is left?
Just for instance he can federalize the Florida national guard so that it becomes his national guard. With just his
signature……
I wonder how many of these charging stations will actually be working in a month.
I assume a nice round figure.
Good one, made me laugh. First laugh of my day 🙂
The Demo-Rats still want to use Our Tax Money for EV Recharges no one wants to use reminds me of how the Rotory Club set up Bike Racks no ore uses
There’s a bike rental rack on my street less than 100 feet away with dozens of bikes, and none of them are ever used.
People do rent the electric scooters, though.
So…….um…….when did government decide to essential get into the “gas station” business with these chargers ?
When it realized it could take tens or hundreds of billions of tax payer dollars and do nothing but pocket it without building anything, like the two California trains to nowhere?
Instead of government spending that kind money on EV chargers, let the States put them in the rest stops. They would make money from charging money for charging and vending machines. McDonald’s could also put them in their parking lots and make money from people eating at thier restaurants while they charge up.
I owned a gas station. How many gas stations did our bloated government build?
If there is a business need for a charging station an entrepreneur will build it.
Government cannot do anything efficiently.
Just give gas car vouchers to all the EV owners and save money.
“…a major blow to an industry that has experienced slower-than-expected sales…”
Expected by who? When have these morons ever met expectations?
Republicans complained when Biden cancelled the Keystone Pipeline. So what’s their point?
