After the shocking scenes from the attacks on a Los Angeles Jewish community by an Islamist and leftist mob, and the resulting outrage, politicians from Mayor Karen Bass to President Joe Biden decided to condemn it in the same general terms.
They condemned the actions, but not those behind it.
It’s nice that most top statewide officials finally condemned attacking a synagogue, but they did not condemn the movements and the ideology behind it. There would have been no such reticence had they been white supremacists.
Antisemitism is bad, California and federal elected officials agree. So is attacking synagogues. What do they intend to do about it?
They’ll condemn it without condemning those responsible or taking any actions against them.
I wrote about the violence here in ‘What I Saw at a Terrorist Rally Outside a Synagogue’ and also more briefly here, and the overall message was there were lessons to learn from this. Over the past 8 months there have been similar ugly incidents that played out the same way because the LAPD failed to emplace and maintain protest zones that would keep terrorist supporters and Jews apart.
Will anything change the next time around? Don’t count on it.
Patrols will briefly increase in Jewish areas but the next time terrorist supporters come to a Jewish neighborhood, the authorities will not do anything differently. I hope to be proven wrong, but I doubt that I will be.
The LAPD’s motto is “To protect and to serve”. That’s nebulous. Protect and serve whom?
Dominic Choi, chief of the LAPD, a political appointee, very grateful for his job, says in a YouTube video posted in March that he “represents all minority groups”. Well, technically, not all. It doesn’t include the Jewish community. But even so, what about ‘non minority’ group protection? What about protecting every citizen?

There was something in your article yesterday that stood out in my mind. The pro-Palestine mob, had to have foreknowledge of the Jewish rally in the synagogue, like when and where it would be. That a mob showed up and was prepared to use violence and even go so far as to use bear spray and at least one mob member thought to wear ski goggles to the attack, which shows planning. So doesn’t that constitute a conspiracy?
What’s going to happen next time? And was this even covered by ABC, CBS, CNN, OR NBC?

I am ashamed to admit that I have discovered anti-Jewish feelings within so-called Christian churches. Never in my long life have I ever heard one anti-Jewish sentiment coming from my Christian brothers and sisters until now – but only on the internet. My experience as a Christian has been one that nourished appreciation for Israel and her people – greatly desiring that God would fulfill all His promises to her and thus to all the world.
But I have also discovered that many Jews harbor anti-Christian sentiment, also, as well as anti-American feelings. I suppose these are the “JINOs”?
I have read and studied the Bible assiduously for many years. It baffles me how these tribal hatreds can be justified. Each side can point to egregious acts, of course – but these belong to unredeemed humanity and not to us. There are bad people in every tribe, and we have a duty to admonish these and make it known they do not speak and think very badly.
Here’s news to antisemitic Christians or those who claim they are Christians. if you hate Jews because you hate Jews you hate Jesus too!
When I die and leave this Jewish DNA body behind, I’m done being Jewish. When Yeshua Messiah was crucified, HE took his Jewish body with HIM. Lord Jesus Christ was and still is Jewish.
