The legion of Obama judges who have issued decisions in key cases, including involving Trump, never had their affiliations named. Calling them “Obama judges”, as I would usually do, was condemned as an attack on the judicial system. 

You were supposed to “trust” their “impartiality” and “professionalism”. Anything else was an “attack on the judiciary”.

Like most double standards, these were all about rejecting scrutiny and transparency of their side while using a different set of rules for the political opposition.

Much like the intimidation campaign waged against Supreme Court justices, which escalated to harassment, intimidation and assassination plots, the Left is going after a judge for approving a special master to sort through the material the FBI seized in the Mar-a-Lago raid. This is a basic form of protection extended to defendants, especially in a case as unprecedented as this. The Left is going wild over a ruling covering executive privilege even though she specifically declined to make a determination on the matter.

But set aside the legal questions and we have the familiar spectacle of Democrats and their media pretending that their judges are impartial and objective experts while those who rule against them are enemies who need to be locked up.

There have been calls to investigate the judge for “obstruction of justice” which is a useful reminder that this whole thing is an exercise not in semi-fascism, but fascism.
