The ‘Wise Latina’ is not happy with the Supreme Court’s religious freedom decision.
“This Court continues to dismantle the wall of separation between church and state that the Framers fought to build,” Sotomayor wrote, dissenting from the 6-3 decision that broke along ideological lines.
“In just a few years, the Court has upended constitutional doctrine,” she added, “shifting from a rule that permits States to decline to fund religious organizations to one that requires States in many circumstances to subsidize religious indoctrination with taxpayer dollars.”
1. Carson v. Maykin doesn’t force anyone to take part in religious services or practices. It simply allows families who are religious to benefit from existing government programs.
2. The Left really ought to shut up about the wall of separation between church and state considering that it has entirely destroyed that wall in order to shove its own religious and cultural values into schools and on children.
The drag strippers in schools lobby ought to be the last ones whining about walls of separation.
A wall of separation only works when the school is a non-partisan, non-ideological and is neutral on values apart from what is a universally agreed set of American values.
The Left wants to shove critical race theory, radical gender theory, environmental activism, and every one of its deeply held beliefs into schools, it wants to take kids to mosques, have them put on burqas and recite Islamic prayers, and then it whines about a wall of separation between church and state.
The wall is down and leftists brought it down.
All that’s left is to either clean up schools so that they become neutral again, and the Left is fighting efforts, such as the one by Gov. Ron DeSantis in Florida., tooth and nail, or to create a separation and allow leftists to use their public school systems and allow everyone else to choose alternatives that are either neutral or reflect their cultural, political, and religious values.
