The dirty little secret of environmentalism is that in between the period when it existed as a eugenics front and now when it serves as a cover for Big Green financial interests, it was a covert effort to cripple American industry by the Soviet Union.
The People’s Republic of China picked up where the Russians left off.
Environmentalists had vocally denied such accusations when they’re not demanding that America bow to China.
As a new Cold War takes shape between the U.S. and China, progressives fear the result will be a dramatically warming planet.
Over 40 progressive groups sent a letter to President Joe Biden and lawmakers on Wednesday urging them to prioritize cooperation with China on climate change and curb its confrontational approach over issues like Beijing’s crackdown on Hong Kong and forced detention of Uyghur Muslims.
What’s a little genocide and tyranny when we’ve got an imaginary crisis that exists to bankrupt our economy and deprive us of our civil liberties to promote.
The progressive organizations, including the Sunrise Movement and the Union of Concerned Scientists, “call on the Biden administration and all members of Congress to eschew the dominant antagonistic approach to U.S.-China relations and instead prioritize multilateralism, diplomacy, and cooperation with China to address the existential threat that is the climate crisis
As usual, the real crisis must be suppressed with a fake crisis.
Multilateralism, diplomacy and cooperation with the Communist oligarchy in Beijing netted us a destroyed economy, a fentanyl crisis, and a pandemic.
What prizes will more of the same lead to?
The players here range from the antiwar crowd, like Codepink and Committee for a SANE U.S.-China Policy, to more general leftist groups like MoveOn and environmental pressure groups like the Sunrise Movement.
The letter is every bit as surreal as any of the Zinn-Chomskyite takes on the Cold War. There’s no mention or acknowledgment of what China is doing in Hong Kong, in Xinyang, or Africa for that matter.
The letter spends much of its time bashing America while falsely claiming that critiquing the Communist regime in Beijing “bolsters racist, right-wing movements in the United States, fuels violence against people of East and Southeast Asian descent.”
But there’s one paragraph, aside from all the global warming hoaxing and the bashing of the United States, that gets to the point.
“The U.S. is the world leader in clean technology research and controls immense financial resources; China is the world leader in industrial capacity across a number of clean energy industries and is a major source of infrastructure financing across the Global South. Working together could speed the transition away from dirty energy economies.”
China will do all the construction and get the jobs while American taxpayers and consumers will have the privilege of financing this with our “immense financial resources” in the name of an imaginary crisis. And anyone who questions the political prisoners and slave labor is threatening the future of the planet.
I wonder if the Chinese Communists apparatchiks who dictated this were laughing like gleeful schoolgirls while they envisioned this glorious partnership of using our money to build up their industries to save the planet from… us.
