I predicted that all that was left after this was running for dogcatcher. But I forgot the fundamental rule of Democrat politics. No matter how badly you do, you can always score an academic gig.

 Former Mayor Bill de Blasio — who flunked both his campaign for president and Congress — is stepping into a new role as a teaching fellow at Harvard University this fall.

Professor Hizzoner will be teaching at both the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Institute of Politics at the Harvard Kennedy School, the New York Times reported Wednesday.

And he’ll be late for every single class.

How low are Harvard’s standards? This low.

One preschooler required stitches when his hand got caught on protruding nails and staples at a center in The Bronx, according to the report by state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli.

At another Bronx preschool, sleeping children were left under the supervision of a janitor while their two teachers stepped out, the audit said.

Auditors who inspected a random sampling of sites also found toxic cleaning supplies such as bleach left in places accessible to children, radiators without protective guards and expired fire extinguishers.

That’s probably not getting covered in class.

“It’s exciting to spend time with really talented young people who are looking forward to going into public service,” de Blasio told the Times. “I hope I can inspire them, but also give them some real life understanding of what’s ahead and how to be effective.”

And learn that if Bill de Blasio can do it, so can they. No matter how bad you are at anything, except political child exploitation, Warren Wilhelm Jr is worse.
