The military recruiting crisis is getting worse. How bad is it? Well, I came across this wholly uninspiring ad.
Don’t be sure you’re too old or fat for the Coast Guard. Our standards are lower than you might think.
The Coast Guard has been the longtime butt of jokes, but it has been a target for mandatory wokeness by the Biden administration and the Senate.
The woke war on the Coast Guard went hot with the 2021 NDAA that mandated “The Commandant of the Coast Guard shall appoint a Senior Advisor for Diversity and Inclusion for the Coast Guard”.
The Commandant of the Coast Guard is Linda Fagan: whom the media takes pains to remind us is the first woman to lead a branch of the armed services. At the change of command ceremony, Biden left little doubt about why she was chosen. “It’s about time,” he rambled. “The Secretary of Defense, when he sent me name, I said, ‘What in the hell took you so long?’”
Even though the Coast Guard Academy is already 40% female, the Senate bill orders the Commandant to work on improving the representation of women using the RAND representation report which pushes political agendas under the guise of fighting discrimination.
The RAND report demanded that the Coast Guard address “concerns” about “racism in local communities” and monitor racism in “problematic locations for assignments”. This moves the Coast Guard into policing the views of local Americans instead of rescuing them at sea.
The report quotes an anonymous minority man complaining that, “I have a friend going to Oregon right now. He’s the only person of color there. There are certain things you can’t say or do.” The state has a lesbian governor, but there aren’t enough black people in the state so now the eight coast guard stations in Oregon are to be treated like they’re in KKK territory.
Two years later the current state of the Coast Guard is so bad that it’s paying for ‘You’re not too fat or old for us” ads on social media.
Absolutely appalling policies and behavior by the US government. and the Coast Guard.
In my experience (and objectively speaking in general) there is no advantage to having diversity in terms of skin color, ethnicity, sex or sexual preferences. A person who is skilled, competent and has a decent work ethic will contribute and be valuable to any organization. Anything less than meritocracy results in poor outcomes.

I am 73 and about 15 pounds over weight. Where do I sign up? I do have a tendency to get a little sea sick and not much of a swimmer.
What a hoot. I will only say in response, I got you beat buddy, by a lot (which age and weight shall not be disclosed). But as they say in the USCG, When you are assigned to ocean rescue duty, You have to go out, you don’t have to come back.
I’m not fat. But I am old. And I get seasick. Plus I self-identify as an Indian mongoose. Sounds like a winning combination to me. Would I get overtime pay?
On a tangent, watching videos of the Israeli Coast Guard (or whatever it is called) fighting Hamas terrorists swimming off the coast on October 7, tossing grenades at them, got me thinking, must be a better way. But it turns out there is a better way and they were using it, there are special grenades for tossing into the water against enemy frogmen and they are *MORE* effective than regular grenades on land.
I’m 70. I’d sign up tomorrow, if they’d have me, but I’m a white dude. I’d just like to use one of those Gatlin guns the Navy uses in fighting pirates.
They will soon start the ”lets fill the ranks with illegals” bs again.

I find it amusing that the most leftist part of a leftist state is considered kkk territory by the dei people. It’s like the claims of racism, sexism, and islamaphobia at leftist woke universities.
“There are certain things you can’t say or do.” in this bastion of leftism? What’s that, say “MAGA,” support Trump, oppose abortion, or support the police? It’s safe money the report didn’t ask for, nor give specific examples of what a black person can’t say or do there.
As for the USCG mission, we can see what a great job they’re doing at that by all the illegal aliens disembarking on our beaches these days.
