It’s official folks, the end of public health theater is here. At least for now.
Fauci is resigning and Birx is calling for reforming the CDC. We’re officially in the self-criticism stage now. At least the carefully managed self-criticism meant to create the illusion that anything has changed. What did change? Public polling was a disaster. Attempts in the Bay Area and LA to return to mask protocols completely failed.
So let’s get ready for the next crisis.
Not that Fauci is actually leaving, just transitioning.
“While I am moving on from my current positions, I am not retiring. After more than 50 years of government service, I plan to pursue the next phase of my career while I still have so much energy and passion for my field. “
There will be plenty of boards to sit on and private sector contracts. Fauci is saying as much by emphasizing, “after more than 50 years of government service, I plan to pursue the next phase of my career”.
The government part is over. Now it’s time for some sweet private sector cash.
Biden’s statement begins with, “During my time as Vice President, I worked closely with Dr. Anthony Fauci on the United States’ response to Zika and Ebola.”
Considering that great track record, maybe both Fauci and Biden should have called it a day back then?
