The Steele dossier, the subsequent eavesdropping, wiretapping, Mueller raids and the rest of the horror show reveal the depth of corruption in Washington D.C. and the big blue capitals, the intersections of the media, unelected government officials, politicians and the various middlemen who form the great swamp above the Potomac.
And here we are. As John Solomon keeps digging deeper and deeper into it.
Former FBI general counsel James Baker met during the 2016 season with at least one attorney from Perkins Coie, the Democratic National Committee’s private law firm.
That’s the firm used by the DNC and Hillary Clinton’s campaign to secretly pay research firmFusion GPS and Christopher Steele, a former British intelligence operative, to compile a dossier of uncorroborated raw intelligence alleging Trump and Moscow were colluding to hijack the presidential election.
The dossier, though mostly unverified, was then used by the FBI as the main evidence seeking a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant targeting the Trump campaign in the final days of the campaign…
The sources said Baker identified lawyer Michael Sussman, a former DOJ lawyer, as the Perkins Coie attorney who reached out to him and said the firm gave him documents and a thumb drive related to Russian interference in the election, hacking and possible Trump connections.
The whole point of using Steele was to create some distance, but it’s clear that Clintonworld was determined to feed that dossier into the FBI, the DOJ and the entire government any way that it could, and as often as it could.
Using an ex-DOJ lawyer, like using Steele, like hiring Bruce Ohr’s wife, was an attempt at maintaining linkages like the government in order to turn opposition research into an investigation. This is far worse than Watergate.
And it keeps getting worse.
