The “resistance” is at it again.
President Joe Biden’s allies are getting antsy about his administration’s pileup of unfinished environmental rules — especially with the threat that a second Trump presidency could undo them all.
Biden’s agencies are facing a deadline this spring to finish some of their most important regulations to ensure that a Republican Congress and White House can’t erase them next year, including a crackdown on power plants’ climate pollution, protections for endangered species and a bid to protect federal employees from politically motivated firings.
That last one is an understandable priority for federal bureaucrats and appointees worried that they’ll be fired.
This obviously raises the question of who actually runs the federal government, but if you still don’t know the answer to that, try running for office and actually passing a law. The folks who actually run things are busy insulating themselves from being subjected to the rigors of democratic change in the name of protecting democracy from the people who vote for things that they shouldn’t.
The scramble to finish the regulations is crucial to determining how much of Biden’s ambitious legacy may survive past the November election, as the two likely nominees promote sharply contrasting views on climate change, green energy and the power of federal agencies.
The Biden administration has promised action on a lot of fronts, and how soon it rolls those rules out could determine how easy they are for a future administration to unravel. Policy insiders and Biden administration allies are urging agencies’ rule writers to keep their eye on the clock.
The polite fiction is that the feds are supposed to write rules objectively and impartially. This is a press release stating that the opposite is true and that the rules are being rushed out for purely partisan reasons.
Considering that this was the exact claim used to undermine the Trump administration’s executive orders and other decisions in court, including those that involved setting aside executive orders and other debris from the Obama administration which had somehow acquired the force of law by the mere fact that Obama wanted them done, it ought to be an important argument used when challenging some of these same rules in court.
On the table is Biden’s car ban.
EPA rule writers are hustling behind the scenes to wrap up work on a suite of big Biden regulations on climate, water and chemicals this year…
Closely watched climate rules, such as revamped tailpipe pollution limits for cars and trucks, are expected in March as well. Those rules, under review at the White House, could lead to electric vehicles making up two-thirds of car and light truck sales as soon as 2032, the EPA has estimated.
Nah, they won’t. It’ll just mean that the majority of Americans won’t be able to afford to buy new cars.
But the real meat of it is the bureaucratic resistance protecting itself from the consequences of its coup.
Last year, the Office of Personnel Management proposed stronger guardrails for the civil service. The regulation says career employees keep their civil service protections unless they voluntarily accept a political appointee job and adds requirements when reclassifying career positions as political appointments.
The rule could serve as a vital defense for federal employees if Trump wins in November.
That allows Dems to protect the activists they’ve embedded into the federal government and allow them to continue undermining America from within.

They all should be Fired totally and perinatally Terminate their Jobs by 100% let them get jobs in Sanitation if they can spread out t he Trash they can clean it all up
Mickorn says
“Biden’s car ban.” I really try to get mad at all the misrepresenting and obfuscating you do. But your “car ban” schtick never stops being funny.
Jeff Bargholz says
It is an effective car ban, you cretin. The overwhelming majority can’t afford to dispose of their internal combustion cars with NO recompense and buy $60,000 minimum EVs, not that there is NY infrastructure to support 280 million EVs or EVER will be.
As if you even own a car, much less an EV, Bus Boy.

The American Cancer Society is dedicated to the eradication of Cancer. Unfortunately, their efforts fall far from total realization.
Unlike America’s Democrat Party, which is enthusiastic as it approaches realization of its goal.
Ugly Sid says
Let’s try again.
The American Cancer Society is dedicated to the irradication of cancer.
America’s Democrat Party Is dedicated to the irradication
of demcracy.
With the confiscation of Trump’s resources, it appears they’ve succeeded.
RS says
The Democrat party is the Cancer that eats away at and destroys liberty.
NAVY ET1 says
Stacking the deck, changing the rules and rigging the game are all tell-tale signs of the evil that permeates the totalitarian state and undoubtedly, if ultimately successful, signals the slow death of a once proud nation.
I’m old enough to remember when talk of a “Deep State” was considered conspiracy theory of the highest order, and only spoken of in hush tones so as to keep one from being labelled a kook. One of the amazing things about the current bastardized administration is the time acceleration, for conspiracy theories have been proven to be fact in less than 6 months under Biden.
I also hear a lot about the next civil war coming. To those individuals, I would proffer the suggestion that they aren’t paying attention closely enough, for the volleys are already flying. The next civil war is here.
Jeff Bargholz says
Fortunately, if Trump overcomes the Dirtbagocrat cheating in November, nothing the Deep State sets up will be able to stand up to him. They’re dreaming if they think it will.
Chaya says
A civil war is here but is any civilian fighting back? I don’t see much oush back except for talking commenting here as we do. And that has not helped Things have gotten more overtly totalitarian
OK maybe the truckers are pushing back, sort of. Hopefully all of them transferred money out of their names. So, unlike `israeli victims of Judea and Samaria region Islamic terror, they wont get their bank accounts confiscated and be slandered for exercising their rights.
Samuel The Lamanite says
The federal government, as well as many state and local governments have been thoroughly infected by and weaponized by domestic enemies aka democrats and RINOs. I believe, if somehow Trump and the American people are able to overcome the massive voter fraud in the works and win the next election, Trump will have to invoke his duty and responsibility to defend the constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. That means ignoring the ensuing corrupt kangaroo court law suits, using the military and federal agents to law and order and the constitution and he will need to defund and dissolve the DOJ, FBI, EPA, IRS, etc.
Greg says
The federal government’s journeyman professional pay grade– GS-13– handsomely compensates foot soldiers for our permanent ruling class. What would we do without the current batch? Donald J. Trump aims to find out.
aristotle cam says
No where in this article mentions who the brave fighters for our Republic are! Eh,,, you say our brave REPUBLICAN
PARTY. If it wasn’t for Donald Trump- there wouldn’t be a Republican Party!!!
JL says
The minions could be giving the next administration a blessing in disguise. He may not be able to fire them, but if the agency (or subagency) is completely eliminated the jobs would go with it. Of course, it would require that there is actually a desire and a will to shrink the federal government in both the administration and Congress, since it would probably take both to actually eliminate an entire agency.
Jeff Bargholz says
Why couldn’t he fire them?
danknight says
federal civil service rules, Jeff … it’s almost as hard to fire a fed as it is to fire a ‘teacher’ …
Jeff Bargholz says
Can you relocate them someplace they would hate?
James H. says
A.C.
A good idea, yet perhaps very difficult to implement.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe that over the centuries and administrations, when-ever one party won the white house, it was tradition that all legal employees, (attorneys, etc,etc ) lost their jobs and had to re-apply for employment if desired. to continue on the job.
Well, let’s use the Regan ‘executive-order concept) and have Trump ( or the powers that be) dismisses ALL political appointees via executive order and to all self-confessed stated members of the opposing party to also be dismissed.
Such a controversial procedure would at least have the positive talking point of starting the new administration FRESH and nonencombered.
Just a thought.
RAM says
This is not Lincoln’s vision. That has pretty much perished from the earth. What we typically have instead is government against the people. When the Left can’t fake elections, it disregards the results.
Algorithmic Analyst says
The goal is a permanent one-party state ruled by the Democrats.
Onzeur Trante says
Republicans need a dragon slayer at this point. How else to eliminate the evil that is feeding on us?
Jeff Bargholz says
A dragon slayer or septic tank drainer.
World@70 says
If the Dems are waiting for Biden to push these environmental rules, they’ll have to catch him between vacations. As time goes by he seems to need more and more.
Jeff Bargholz says
Vacations, naps and butt wipes by his nurse caregivers.
rbla says
Maybe you can’t fire them but there are a lot of fish and sea mammals to be protected on the north slope of Alaska. Relocate them up there. They’d still have to be paid but it would be worth getting them out of harm’s way.
NL Celt says
Yes, that would be my thought as well. They can keep their job for awhile, but place them in positions and places where they can do no harm and may just end up quitting.
danknight says
exactly … but there are very few patriots who even know the federals civil service rules exist … much less how to thwart them.
To my knowledge … no Republican has tried …
… very few have even mentioned the permanent anti-American administrative state.
Jeff Bargholz says
Time for the rest of us to start devising ways to thwart them.
Generally speaking, I hate civil servants, even though I probably shouldn’t. Many are just ordinary people but the ones with an extreme sense of entitlement are detestable.
Skipping Dog says
Making sure Trump doesn’t sell out the country to his buddy Putin is the first priority. Making sure Trump doesn’t dismantle the American system of law and accountability is the second.
Jeff Bargholz says
Making sure you get mental therapy should be your first priority.
NL Celt says
The Dems have pretty much done the law and order part already. Trump needs to get it back to where it should be, and in the meantime prosecute those that should be from the other side.
CowboyUp says
Now that they’ve purged the ethical from key and midlevel positions, had more time to dei hire in the entry levels, and pretty much got all the executive branch filled with leftist partisans who lack any ethics, they want to lock them in.
You can bet the farm mitt, lindsey, murkowski, collins and the other rinos will vote for it. There’s no way to chalk it up to ignorance or stupidity, they’re playing for the other team. And look for lindsey to come up with another draconian abortion bill, that he doesn’t really support himself, in late summer or fall, just to sabotage the election. Don’t know what the dems have on him, but it must be good, because they own him, and he looks and acts like a pervy slimeball, so it’s probably pretty bad.
Jeff Bargholz says
The Dirtbagocrat candidate will run on abortion, guaranteed. And anti-Trump slander and libel. of course.
RS says
The Democrats have sold out the American people. Clinton is the one who sold Uranium to the Russians. Obama and Biden have done everything to undermine Israel and prop up her enemies.
danknight says
The Federal Government needs a massive downsizing.
Anyone high enough on the food chain to promulgate regulations … needs to be term limited.
And anyone in the revolving door … taking Board positions on businesses regulated by government …
… needs to experience “claw back” … civil restitution to restore ill-gotten gains to their rightful owner …
Without extreme measures such as this …
I don’t see how America can survive Obiden’s legacy …
