But first, let’s pause to celebrate the incredible historic moment of the first Somali refugee to run a public housing agency.
Sharmarke Issa was confirmed by the Minneapolis City Council to chair Minneapolis Public Housing Authority (MPHA). Issa is the first immigrant and first East African to serve as chair of the MPHA Board of Commissioners.
“Having grown up in in Minneapolis public housing after coming to our city as a refugee, Sharmarke’s story of success highlights public housing as vital asset in Minneapolis,” said Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey. “Sharmarke’s life experience and background in urban planning are especially important to MPHA’s mission. At a time when the federal government continues to shortchange housing funding, he will be a skilled steward of our public housing infrastructure who understands and centers the needs of residents.”
Approximately one-third of Minneapolis Public Housing residents are members of the East-African community.
One third. 1 in 3 are Somalis. Just one of those little factoids about diversity being our strength. Kinda like Issa’s stewardship.
An Edina man who chaired the board of the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority pleaded guilty Wednesday to federal wire fraud charges for his role in the Feeding Our Future nutrition program fraud scheme.
That was a $250 million social welfare fraud to help the Somali community.
Sharmarke Issa, 42, admitted to running entities that laundered federal funding for the scheme, including Wacan Restaurant LLC and a nonprofit called Minnesota’s Somali Community.
Issa was responsible for $7.6 million of the $50 million in fraud scheme money that the federal government says it lost,
Issa claimed to serve 2.3 million meals to children at his food sites. He admitted that some of the fraud scheme money instead went to properties he purchased in Edina, Minneapolis and elsewhere.
Everyone is now pretending to be shocked and outraged at water being wet.
When Sharmarke’s name first surfaced in 2022 as part of the case, Frey said the allegations against him were “appalling” and “run counter to the values that we are entrusted to uphold in the City of Minneapolis.”
Forget it Jake, it’s Somalitown.
This type of stealing and fraud is prevalent in taxpayer subsidized programs like this one…for decades.
These type of programs generally don’t have controls and systems to prevent it, or very weak controls.
One question I have…who got kickbacks to keep quiet about it.

I work with the PHA/HUD everyday, The files need to be audited, birth certificates and SSC should be in every case file for every member of the household unless they are under 2 years old. Everyone knows exactly what this is, Theft! Misappropriation of federal funding is criminal.

Subsidized public housing is charity. In a free society all charity is private and voluntary. Need does not make right.
Whatever charity government engages in, private citizens with private funds, can do a hundred times better, with a hundred times more accountability, and a hundred times better efficiency, and better results.
Maybe you should figure out a way to stop subsidized housing yourself instead of telling us what to do.

THX made an argument for ending subsidized housing. He presumably votes for candidates who can advance toward that goal and also makes his arguments whenever it seems appropriate. So, he is doing what he can to stop it, as a law-abiding citizen. I’m curious to know what you think he should do.
Bottom line is I don’t sit at my computer each and every day telling people how to fix themselves, as he does. You don’t know him as I do since he never has any solutions for anything, pretty much hates this country, definitely hates Trump and the concept of altruism as defined by his girlfriend Ayn Rand.

“Charity” in the sense you mean is freely giving one’s time, talent or money to assist another in need. Government is incapable of doing this. Government can unconstitutionally coerce money from its citizens to give to others, but that action is best described as theft.
Charity pre-supposes freedom because it is, by definition, given freely.

Yes. Kynarion you are a wise woman. Government or Social Service organizations have created this problem, in the ill-conceived, or intentional lie that they are “saving” people by moving them to the United States. Human beings are born into, live and thrive in their own unique culture..
Move people to another country-but you will never remove their culture from who they are as a human being! Current moves by our government is creating a culture war that no one will win.
Subsidized housing isn’t charity. A more appropriate description would be marxist wealth redistribution.
Charity is something one does voluntarily. Subsidized housing has nothing to do with voluntary or charity.
Vouchers are not being released, I noticed about a year ago their switching things up and diverting the vouchers to a mystery population, The VA has been struggling to get vouchers for veterans due to these misappropriations, they have tried to smooth it over so no one screams theft, if it were a private company or non profit the CEO/CFO would all be fired.
This is the modus operandi in almost all nations except the Christian west. They have embraced grift and cheating for millennia. They laugh at us for being so gullible and trusting. But it was less our gullibility than our treasonous government.
These people are not our unbelieving neighbors traveling through our land to whom a brief hospitality is due. They are hostile invaders, set upon plunder. They can be peaceably re-migrated back to their own lands and families, in whose warm embrace they will be permanently re-united. Just stop all their incentives for coming here. Stop renewing visas. Deport them. Let them take their social security benefits with them payable only in the country of their birth. The birth-right-citizenship of aliens’ babies should be retroactively revoked. It will take some time, but will be no more difficult than getting them here in the first place. It can be done respecting their human dignity as comports our own ways of being.
Let diversity be their strength – or not. Let them build and rebuild their own lands, monuments, myths and institutions. Let them speak their own language and live in whatever way seems best to them in the nations where their ancestors lie.

Not just in Minneapolis – Los Angeles where the homeless populations have gone to the suburbs because of overcrowding the sidewalks and parks and freeway bushes, where there is more money because of exorbitant taxes, there is no excuse for not getting the homeless off the street because vagrancy laws in Los Angeles are still in place, money laundering schemes to help the homeless have empty housing and shelters that were funded by tax payers. All money laundering schemes!!!!
Not the missions that depend on donations – they are filled to over capacity and in one case the long time director of the largest of these missions contracted a flesh eating bacteria that cost him a leg!
The disease of homeless people in any city threatens and epidemic!! And we are stupid victims with our tax dollars being criminally abused in this manner.
I tried doing volunteer work in the 1980s, handing out free food to the homeless in San Francisco at a big church, can’t remember the name right now. Anyway that continued until I caught some horrible cold that had me coughing up green stuff for a month. After that I decided volunteer work wasn’t for me, I didn’t want to expose myself to any more of their horrible diseases.
THEFT is very much a part of the Muslim culture. Muslim men are deemed to lacking in masculinity unless they take the otherside to the cleaners.
Perhaps the ultimate issue is not theft; It’s the fact that all these invading culture do not and never will assimilate. They loathe our culture, language and values and impose their own from the countries they couldn’t escape fast enough from.

It is past time to get serious and remove all incentives for foriegn parasites to immigrate to our nation and bleed its REAL CITIZENS of their birthrights.
Any and all subsidies to non-natural born citizens should be halted after a public notice, to give the parasitic aliens time to get their affairs in order and self deport.
Remitances should be taxed at 100% and ended entirely after notice.
After such date, all non citizens and non legal residents should be ordered deported, with a bounty being paid to any citizen reporting the wherabouts of any alien subsequently collected for deportation.
$500 bounties should be paid to any citizen that volunteers at any border location, and subsequently prevents any aliens from entering outside official points of entry.
The bodies of those prevented from illegally crossing into US territory should be left to rot, as a deterrent of future violations and drug smuggling.
