Since General Mattis decided to try and secure a CNN contributor gig by inserting himself into the news again, here’s a reminder of what he stands for. While, back in the day, some conservatives bought into the Mattis cult of personality, I was never one of them.
Mattis was a dangerous man who, like much of the foreign policy establishment, focused on appeasing Islamists.
Here’s one of his very worst moments.
This is obscene and disgusting. Islamic terrorists kill people for defaming Islam.
Defense Secretary Mattis is putting us on the same moral level as Islamic terrorists in an attempt to curry favor with Islamists. It’s particularly outrageous considering that the Al Qaeda leader had been responsible for the murder of American military personnel.
Yet instead of saying that we avenged the murders of U.S. Air Force Maj. Rodolfo I. Rodriguez and Navy Petty Officer Matthew J. O’Bryant, we get this.
“The death of Qari Yasin is evidence that terrorists who defame Islam and deliberately target innocent people will not escape justice,” said Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis.
We are not the mercenaries of Islam. We don’t use our military to implement Sharia law by murdering blasphemers and heretics. That really would make us no better than Al Qaeda.
And there was his effort to bring a Muslim Brotherhood collaborator deep into the DOD.
When Mattis tried to get Michele Flournoy, that was outrageous enough.
Michele Flournoy would have been Hillary Clinton’s Secretary of Defense. She was an Obama/Hillary hack. Having her as Deputy Secretary of State in an administration trying to move on from those failed policies was wildly wrong. But Mattis nearly quit because Team Trump wouldn’t let him have her.
But this latest pick makes Michele Flournoy look like Eisenhower.
That was Anne Patterson, better known as Obama’s interface with the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.
Patterson demanded that Egypt’s recently appointed Supreme Commander of the Egyptian Armed Forces, General Abdul Fatah al-Sisi, release all Muslim Brotherhood members currently being held for questioning:..
The June 18 edition of Sadi al-Balad reports that lawyer Ramses Naggar, the Coptic Church’s legal counsel, said that during Patterson’s June 17 meeting with Pope Tawadros, she “asked him to urge the Copts not to participate” in the demonstrations against Morsi and the Brotherhood.
Mattis, in short, was terrible. His latest antics remind us of that.
