After being removed from two Broward County School Board committees for promoting antisemitism, Muslim “educator” and self-described activist “for Islam,” Naima Khan-Ghany, is now slated to moderate a forum at the upcoming Florida Muslim Conference to be held in Coral Springs, Florida, on January 24th to 25th of this week.
The event is being organized by the South Florida Muslim Federation (SFMF), a.k.a. SoFlo Muslims, a group whose previous year’s conference was shut down for including speakers with ties to terrorism who had glorified the terrorist organization Hamas.
The Khan-Ghany moderated panel, entitled “Shared Values, Stronger Communities: Building Unity Through Dialogue,” lists as its participants Broward School Board Chair Debra “Debbi” Hixon, Coral Springs Vice Mayor Nancy Metayer Bowen, Sunrise Assistant Deputy Mayor Jacqueline A. Dixon, and Lutheran Pastor Jonathan Gantt, alongside two of the Muslim Federations’s top leaders, SFMF Development Director Imam Azhar Subedar and Imam Abdul Hamid Samra, who heads SFMF’s Council of Imams.
Khan-Ghany’s ouster from the Broward School Board’s Diversity and Human Relations Committees followed revelations of her troubling history of anti-Jewish social media activity. Among her posts was a video labeling Jews as “Satanic” and content denying Israel’s right to exist. In one post, she called for the “liberation of Palestine… from the river to the sea,” a phrase widely understood as advocating for the eradication of the Jewish state. She also dismissed Israel’s right to self-defense as a “usual excuse.”
Over the years, Khan-Ghany has worked with several organizations with ties to terrorism. These include the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), and the Darul Uloom Institute (DUI), a mosque that has been a haven for high-profile al-Qaeda operatives. She has also used her position to promote figures like former South Florida imam Ibrahim Dremali, who has called for Muslim leaders to invade Israel and throw its Jewish inhabitants into the sea.
After an outcry from concerned parents, School Board member Jeff Holness, who had previously appointed Khan-Ghany, dismissed her.
In agreeing to participate in this event, it seems that School Board Chair Debbi Hixon is not concerned by any of this. This includes the fact that the same Islamist group organizing the conference, SFMF, had its previous event canceled after a public outcry over the pro-Hamas activities of a number of its speakers following the October 7 attacks by Hamas.
In January 2024, SFMF was informed by the General Manager of the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Coral Springs Hotel & Convention Center that the hotel would no longer be holding the group’s planned conference and bazaar, citing significant security concerns. The cancellation was a response to mounting public pressure (and national news), which included petitions, emails and calls to the hotel’s management.
However, this year’s SFMF conference has found a new venue, at the government-run Coral Springs Center for the Arts, raising new concerns about the threats posed by participating individuals and groups to both local and national security.
One of the main speakers at the 2025 SFMF conference will be Ali Ardekani, also known as Baba Ali, the Iranian-born former leader of the Islamic music group Soldiers of Allah (SOA). SOA has disturbingly been described as a “Hizb ut-Tahrir (HT) hip-hop band.” HT has been banned by several nations. Just last week an HT conference was cancelled in Canada due to the outfit’s “documented history of glorifying violence and promoting antisemitism and extremist ideology.”
SOA’s Muslim Supremacist lyrics and ISIS-like style calls for killing non-Muslims and for the Muslim world (Ummah) to establish an Islamic State (Califate). Many of their songs and lyrics are still online. Here is a sample of SOA’s lyrics from a song entitled “Staring Into Kafir (the Enemy’s) Eyes”:
“We fear Allah and only Allah
Let us be the generation who puts Islam back on the map
We will never compromise Islam
Islam will rule the world…
You love life
The way we love death
You better put us in our graves
While you still got time left…
From Turkey to Afghanistan
From Palestine to Iran
Implement Islamic laws
Take a stand!!
Its Allah’s demand
Implement global Jihad!!
Take back our Muslim lands!!!…
And this time when we’re on the battlefield
We are going to be on opposite sides
We’re not going to think twice
Before we take your life!!!!
Kafir!!!
You’re a loser!
In this life……. and in the hereafter……….”
The participation of School Board Chair Debbi Hixon and local government officials at the South Florida Muslim Federation’s annual conference is deeply troubling. These officials were elected to safeguard the well-being and security of their constituents and uphold the public’s trust. Instead, by aligning themselves with an event tied to individuals and organizations known for violent ideologies and bigotry against Jews and others, they are dangerously providing them legitimacy.
The 2025 SFMF conference is belligerently titled “Our Ummah’s Moment,” a reference to Islamic world domination.
Given the conference’s troubling history of promoting extremism and bigotry, it is imperative that Chairwoman Hixon, Coral Springs Vice Mayor Nancy Metayer Bowen, and Sunrise Assistant Deputy Mayor Jacqueline A. Guzman withdraw their participation immediately. Their involvement not only undermines public confidence but also poses a potential threat to community safety and national security interests. Public officials must prioritize the values and safety of those they serve over associations that risk normalizing hate and division.
Concerned citizens are encouraged to voice their objections to the Coral Springs Arts Center and the participating officials. Let them know that lending a platform to individuals and organizations with ties to terrorism is unacceptable:
Coral Springs Center for the Arts: 954-344-5952
Debra Hixon, Broward School Board Chair: 754-321-2009
Nancy Metayer Bowen, Coral Springs Vice Mayor: 954-344-5911
Jacqueline A. Dixon, Sunrise Assistant Deputy Mayor: 954-746-3250
It is imperative that public officials withdraw their participation from this event and denounce the Federation’s extremist agenda. The safety and unity of our communities depend on it.
Note: United Way of Broward County, which was listed as a Bronze Sponsor of the 2025 SFMF conference, has informed this writer that they have withdrawn their participation, after being informed about the controversial nature of the event.
They requested that the United Way logo be removed from the sponsor list, but SFMF has still not done this.

Deport all Muslims, citizens or not, from the West. Islam is antithetical to everything America and the west stands for.
…
Islam continues to attack the Christian world for over 1400 years after Christianity was established peacefully in the middle east 600 years before militant and political islam was spawned from hell.
…
The Hadith makes it clear that Muslims are allowed to lie to unbelievers in order to defeat them or protect themselves. There are several forms: Taqiyya – Saying something that isn’t true as it relates to Muslim identity (i.e whether one is a Muslim or what that means).
…
In Islam, Taqiya or Taqiyya is a precautionary dissimulation or denial of religious belief and practice. Generally, taqiya is the action of committing a sinful act for a pious goal. Hiding one’s beliefs under compulsion is common in many societies and religions. It has been a feature of Islam since its earliest days, and is acknowledged by Muslims of virtually all persuasions.
…
Taqiyya was even cited in 2015 by Ben Carson, at the time a frontrunner for the Republican nomination, when he said no Muslim should ever be president of the United States. “Taqiyya is a component of Sharia that allows, and even encourages you, to lie to achieve your goals.”
Send all Muslims to gitmo.
Mr Biden has helpfully freed up lots of spaces there…
Would they allow a Christian Prayer Service without Big Brothers Permission?
Sounds like a good place for ICE to show up and ask a few polite questions
Perhaps an email to Mr Homan’s office mightn’t go amiss.
I called and left messages for all of the above. Thank you for alerting us and allowing us to participate in this exposure.
There is no place for Islam in the civilized world.
Oh, brother!! here we go again!
Has anyone notified Governor DeSantis?!
Given the number of Jews that live in Florida and the conservatism that Gov. Desantis represents, I have always wondered why radical Islam is allowed to thrive in southern Florida.
My only answer can be that the Jews are liberals and have have moved from NY and other high tax states but, haven’t figured out yet the danger they are in.
A little less Tikkun Olam please. Unless you like the idea of suicide. More guns and Krav Maga
