Samuel Huntington, author of the influential 1996 work The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order, described Islam as “a different civilisation whose people are convinced of the superiority of their culture and are obsessed with the inferiority of their power.” Contrary to the claims of the multicultural apologists who smear any critic of Islam as “Islamophobic,” the religion is a supremacist ideology whose end game in this world is global submission to its god Allah – by any means necessary.
One of those means is jihad, whose most commonly-used definition, since Islam spilled out of Saudi Arabia in the 7th century to create an empire larger than Rome’s had ever been, is war against the infidel. That war is still being waged today throughout the non-Muslim world, known as Dar-al-Harb: the “House of War.” In the Western world, violent jihad is routinely being expressed now as solidarity with Palestinian “resistance” to purported “occupation” by Israel, which is demonized by Iranian mullahs as “the Little Satan” (the U.S., of course, is “the Great Satan”).
On the night of November 7, for example, just two days shy of the 86th anniversary of the notorious Kristallnacht which kicked off the Holocaust, Europe was the scene of a fresh pogrom in which hundreds of antisemites targeted Jews for premeditated, coordinated violence in the streets of Amsterdam.
Groups of attackers – many of them masked, carrying Palestinian flags, and shouting pro-Palestinian slogans – emerged from hiding in alleys and train stations and hotels to ambush Israelis who were leaving a soccer match between the local team and Maccabi Tel Aviv. Shocking video footage – some taken by the perpetrators themselves – shows Israeli and Dutch Jews being chased and assaulted with knives, bats, boots, and even vehicles.
The attacks reportedly were orchestrated in advance and carried out by members of the Dutch Moroccan and Dutch Turkish community. De Telegraaf reported that perpetrators used the messaging app Telegram to announce a “Jew hunt” ahead of the attacks, prompting some to travel from far outside Amsterdam to take part. Muslim cab drivers throughout the city reportedly helped coordinate the assaults.
One Maccabi Tel Aviv fan testified that the attackers’ modus operandi resembled that of the Palestinian terror group Hamas during the October 7th, 2023 massacre, including the planning and the video documentation of the humiliation and violence. “It has nothing to do with the game or Maccabi,” he said, “but with the fact that we are Israelis and Jews – antisemitism at its peak.” Another witness described it as “Kristallnacht 2.”
Dutch leader Geert Wilders denounced the incident, writing on social media, in part, “A pogrom in the streets of #Amsterdam. We have become the Gaza of Europe. Muslims with Palestinian flags hunting down Jews.”
Not only Amsterdam has been transformed into a European Gaza. Rioting followed in the city in the days after the pogrom but then rippled outward elsewhere on the continent. In France, which saw a 192% increase in antisemitic incidents during the first half of 2024, 4000 police officers and 1,600 stadium staff were deployed in advance of a France-Israel soccer match to prevent similar violence. In Belgium, police arrested a half dozen unidentified individuals on suspicion of conspiring to attack Jews in imitation of the Amsterdam attacks. In Berlin, a Jewish youth soccer team was “hunted down” by an Arab mob of youths and adults who reportedly wielded sticks and knives and shouted “Free Palestine” and “fucking Jews.”
This persecution of European Jews is the consequence of decades of misguided policies encouraging mass immigration mostly from the Islamized cultures of North Africa and the Middle East. Europe is now reaping the whirlwind of a strategy known in Islam as hijrah, described in Modern Diplomacy as “a step by step methodology of migration processes designed to subdue and subjugate the host society, culminating in the implementation” of shariah law. And everywhere Islam gets a foothold, the targeting of Jews and Christians follows and accelerates as the Islamic population grows and shariah law takes root.
Breitbart News reports that religiously motivated hate crimes against Christians in Europe surged by 226% in just one year, according to the recently released Annual Report 2024 from the Observatory on Intolerance and Discrimination against Christians in Europe (OIDAC Europe). The OIDAC identifies 2,444 anti-Christian hate crimes documented by police and civil society in 35 European countries in 2023, up from 749 such acts in 2022; the OIDAC also assumes a high number of unreported cases.
The hate crimes included 232 personal attacks on Christians, entailing harassment, threats and physical violence. Breitbart details a couple:
In January 2023, a jihadist attacked two Catholic churches in Algeciras, Spain. The man killed an altar server with a machete and injured four people, while shouting “Allah is great” and “Death to Christians.”
In November, a Tunisian Christian convert was beaten and robbed in Italy for “attending a Christian church.” The assailants were fellow Tunisians who opposed his conversion from Islam to the Christian faith, according to the presiding judge in the case.
Five European countries – Austria, Finland, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom – accounted for 2,111 anti-Christian hate crimes. The country with the highest number in 2023 was France, which has the largest Muslim population in Europe and recorded nearly 1,000 such incidents. That was followed by the United Kingdom and Germany.
Breitbart notes that “In January 2023, arson attacks, including Molotov cocktails, were carried out against four churches in Paris. According to the French Religious Heritage Observatory, 14 criminal arson attacks have taken place in France in the first ten months of 2024.” In March 2023, two Catholic nuns in Nantes reported that they had been subjected to a constant stream of “beatings, spitting and insults” which forced them to move away.
The Islamized UK is rapidly adopting Islamic blasphemy laws and a two-tier system of justice in which British citizens are jailed for social media posts deemed “offensive” to Muslims. To cite just one instance of violent persecution: one UK Christian was seriously injured and another killed in a knife attack in October 2023. The first victim, a convert to Christianity from Islam, was stabbed repeatedly by his Muslim flatmate while lying in bed. The perpetrator considered him an “apostate” and therefore “somebody who deserved to die.”
Anti-Christian hate crimes more than doubled in Germany from 135 in 2022 to 277 in 2023. German police recorded more than 2,000 cases of property damage to Christian places of worship in 2023. Across Europe, nearly a quarter of all crimes of vandalism against churches in 2023 involved intentional acts of desecration. Significantly, of the cases documented by OIDAC Europe where the motives or background of the perpetrators could be established, the majority of perpetrators had a “radical Islamist” background, followed by anti-religious, radical left, and other political motives.
Westerners have been raised to view the medieval Crusades as an unprovoked holy war against innocent Muslims in the Middle East, but in fact, then — as today — it is Muslims who were waging holy war against the West. But today, unlike then, there is no Crusader force to repel Muslim invaders and reclaim or defend territories that belong to Christendom. Until there is, the jihad and hijrah will advance.
