In these dark days of our republic, unexpected help has come twice from one of the most despised groups in the nation: billionaires. In 2016, Donald Trump surprised the world by being elected president, and in doing so, popularized the principle that an American president should actually put the interests of his own people first. Then the Left’s relentless efforts to destroy him revealed the depth and power of the socialist globalists who are intent on destroying our freedoms. And now another billionaire, Elon Musk, has dealt a body blow to the Left’s authoritarian agenda by buying one of the world’s most popular social media platforms and, to the rage and fury of the intelligentsia, restoring the freedom of speech on it.
If there was any doubt about David Horowitz’s dictum that “inside every progressive is a totalitarian screaming to get out,” it has been definitively dispelled now. Back in April, Musk tweeted: “By ‘free speech’, I simply mean that which matches the law. I am against censorship that goes far beyond the law. If people want less free speech, they will ask government to pass laws to that effect. Therefore, going beyond the law is contrary to the will of the people.” Musk’s stated intention to restore the freedom of speech on Twitter led the Leftist media to become more open than ever about its determination to silence its foes forcibly.
The Washington Post warned on Nov. 22 that “Musk’s ‘free speech’ agenda dismantles safety work at Twitter, insiders say.” The Post claimed that Musk had brought turmoil to the Twitter offices, and that he “has stoked the culture-war issues that helped inspire him to purchase the company in the first place.” The “Democracy Dies in Darkness” rag lamented that Musk was “a fierce advocate for the right ‘to speak freely within the bounds of the law,’” and stated that he “has moved rapidly — at times erratically — to undermine a regime built over a decade to define dangerous language on the site and protect vulnerable communities, replacing it with his own more impulsive style of ad hoc decision-making.”
Working from the same Leftist talking points, Time Magazine on Dec. 5 echoed the Post in calling Musk “erratic” and likewise warned that this freedom of speech business was dangerous: “Musk’s erratic behavior does not bode well for the future of free speech on social media, as his support for this principle is seen as upholding of racism and conspiracy theories as gospel.” NPR turned to none other than Nina Jankowicz, the disgraced former head of the Biden administration’s aborted censorship mechanism, the Disinformation Governance Board, who lamented that Musk was going to allow a “free speech free-for-all,” which would be “eventually silencing marginalized voices.” The would-be Reich Propaganda Minister asserted that this “free speech free-for-all is going to mean less speech for marginalized groups….If we were to remove all the protections that Twitter has, I really worry about the silencing effect that that would have for women and marginalized voices.”
When Musk temporarily suspended the accounts of a gaggle of Leftist “journalists,” including Aaron Rupar and Keith Olbermann, for publishing his location and thereby directly endangering his life, Leftists thought they had caught him in a massive act of hypocrisy. Without a trace of irony or self-awareness, NBC News declared on Dec. 16: “Free speech experts and human rights organizations blasted Elon Musk’s decision to suspend several high-profile journalists from Twitter on Thursday, with some raising concerns that the tech tycoon has created an opening for authoritarian regimes to intensify their crackdowns on independent reporting and political dissent.”
Musk’s defense was simple and compelling: “Criticizing me all day long is totally fine, but doxxing my real-time location and endangering my family is not.” The Left’s confusion between protecting the freedom of speech as the cornerstone of any free society and direct incitement to violence was deliberate, as the Left’s goal is to destroy America as a free society and silence all their opponents. By claiming that Musk was going back on his commitment to the freedom of speech by not allowing himself and his family to be deliberately endangered, Leftists hope to force him into abandoning his commitment to the freedom of speech altogether.
And so the Left has quickly pivoted from warning that the freedom of speech was dangerous to sounding the alarm about the threat to it that Elon Musk supposedly represents. Practically simultaneously, Musk has both revealed the Left’s totalitarian agenda and forced Leftists to become defenders of the freedom of speech.
Early Sunday evening, Elon Musk posted a new Twitter poll: “Should I step down as head of Twitter? I will abide by the results of this poll.” Over seventeen million votes were cast, and the Yes votes won with over 57 percent. So will Musk really give up Twitter after shaking up the entire world, and especially the U.S. political and media establishment that has now definitively proven that it opposes the freedom of speech? He may be joking. He may be planning to step away from day-to-day operations of the platform and leave it to a like-minded person. Or he may be tired of all the abuse and threats, which were only going to increase the longer he pursued his free-speech agenda.
We can only hope he will stay on or appoint someone to continue his free-speech agenda. For the freedom of speech is still endangered in the U.S. The other social media giants are still censoring patriotic voices as lustily as they always have. The Biden administration is hinting at going after Musk in some way, just as the FBI and the Justice Department in general have been sicced on Trump and his supporters. Whatever the outcome of these battles may be, however, all free people owe a tremendous debt to Elon Musk, who emerged in 2022 as the unlikely defender of the foundational principle of all free nations. He has shown that the Leftist machine, for all its dominance, hasn’t won total control yet. And it may not ever do so. Freedom still has a chance.

I think you made a wrong turn.
Plenty of enthusiastic Zionists are reading and discussing matters here.
Your anti-Semitic ( oh yes, I said anti-Semitic did your hear the word anti-Semitic?) comment may be legal but it sure is ignorant and repulsive.
Plenty of Jared Kushner hate was simply the spewing of old fashioned Jew hate. You have surely identified yourself as such.
But,why here?

Musk is doing some great things, but let’s not forget that he has plans to put microchips in everyone’s brain. Look up Neurolink.
I wonder if being a billionaire is an automatic cause of mental illness.

“Freedom still has a chance.”
Not if freedom and liberty are not explicitly, clearly, precisely, and philosophically defined and understood by Elon Musk and the majority of Americans.
Donald Trump and Elon Musk are both men of mixed premises guiding their actions and lives not by any explicit and non-contradictory philosophy but by and implicit “sense of life” of mixed and contradictory premises.
What are two of the mixed and contradictory premises in 99.99% of Americans, the deadly conflict bewteen altruism and rational selfishness which means between individualism and collectivism, which means between Capitalism and Socialism. Which means Elon Musk selfishly buying Twitter to defend the selfish and individualist value of Free Speech and then altruistically asking a collective to vote on his right to exist.
“A sense of life is not a substitute for explicit knowledge. Values which one cannot identify, but merely senses implicitly, are not in one’s control. One cannot tell what they depend on or require, what course of action is needed to gain and/or keep them. One can lose or betray them without knowing it….
America’s inner contradiction was the altruist-collectivist ethics. Altruism is incompatible with freedom, with capitalism and with individual rights. One cannot combine the pursuit of happiness with the moral status of a sacrificial animal.” – Ayn Rand

“The philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next.” – Abraham Lincoln
America is losing its virtues of freedom and liberty because of ignorance and miseducation. You cannot keep a value you do not understand how to gain and/or keep. One generation can learn how to fish and ten generations later that knowledge can be lost.
The Stoics believed that men do evil out of ignorance, this is true most of the time for most people. Teach a man how to fish and he will fish, but there are always throughout history a minority of men who despise that independent man fishing for himself and will seek to break his fishing rod or break the man. True, self-aware, thoroughly intentional, evil does exist, that evil is the hatred of the good for being the good.
“Amazingly, Edgerton points out, Tasmanians could not take advantage of the ocean surrounding their island, because although they once learned how to fish, they forgot or gave up the practice. Thus many Tasmanians perished of starvation despite the availability of a plentiful food source all around them.” – Dinesh D’Souza
“The advocates of collectivism are motivated not by a desire for men’s happiness, but by hatred for man . . . hatred of the good for being the good; . . . the focus of that hatred, the target of its passionate fury, is the man of ability…. [the man that can fish for himself].” – Ayn Rand

Except his Red Chinese pals. I suppose we should over look the fact he told the EU he would censor us because Robert Spencer worships him. No big deal as you don’t mention another platform on Twitter because they’ll suspend you for that now. It’s OK because Robert Spencer worships him. But it’s OK that over 15 FBI now occupy Twitters ranks, because Robert Spencer worships him!

Donald Trump and Elon Musk have done more to save America than anyone in the past 100 years, possibly because America has been under attack in unprecedented ways–by foreign countries and even more, by our own leftist politicians and those with power in the Swamp, Both men are dedicated to this country and its values in their own way. Trump worked to save our economy and to end our economic servitude to our foreign allies, as well as sending the message to the others that America is stronger and not to be threatened. Musk has brought back our ability to demand freedom and equality of speech. If he does not stay CEO at Twitter, that he will appoint a person who will be strong enough to maintain the effort to expose and end the corruption in it.
