No matter how often I say it, it can’t be said nearly enough. Because every time I’m on the radio, I keep being asked, “But why doesn’t the Left care about the treatment of women/gays in Muslim countries”.

The Left does not care about women, gay people or any group it claims to care about. The only thing it cares about is destroying our civilization and replacing it with its own totalitarian regime.

It will claim to care about various groups only in order to enlist them in its campaign. When contradictions arise, its true colors are seen.

And so, in response to the Trump admin announcing a dream campaign to decriminalize homosexuality around the world, the response is utterly predictable to anyone who understands what the Left really stands for.

Nothing is more racist than asking Muslims to stop killing gay people.

Homosexuality has been illegal in Iran since the theocratic 1979 Islamic Revolution. By at least one Guardian account, since the exit of president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in 2013, enforcement of anti-gay laws has softened somewhat. Homosexuality, according to the writer, is an “open secret” and most queer people fear homophobic reaction from fellow citizens more than the authorities.

If you don’t count the hangings and prison sentences, Iran is a day away from having the Tehran Pride Parade.

Meanwhile another Guardian piece notes, “Amnesty International estimates that 5,000 gays and lesbians have been executed there since the 1979 Iranian revolution. “

No need to fear those authorities.

The truth is, this is part of an old colonialist handbook. In her essay, “Can the Subaltern Speak?” postcolonial theorist Gayatri Spivak coined the term “White men saving brown women from brown men” to describe the racist, paternalistic process by which colonizing powers would decry the way men in power treated oppressed groups, like women, to justify attacking them. Spivak was referencing the British colonial agenda in India. But Grennell’s attack might be a case of white men trying to save brown gay men from brown straight men, to the same end.

There we go. Any attempt at preventing gay men from being hanged is really racist. Now let’s go back to pretending that we care about gay rights.
