The Democrats built themselves a massive machine to take Georgia. And Georgia is just a trial run for Texas and the whole enchilada. Republicans are, as usual, a year late and a few billion short when showing up to the party.

Contrary to what a lot of conservatives believe these days, they want to win (nobody gets into politics to lose, except political consultants, and the more professional class of consultants want to win because it benefits them, it’s the grifters who have no ambition) they’re just far behind the competition when it comes to strategy and worldview. One side is playing chess and the other is slapping themselves on the back for figuring out how to roll a ball back and forth.)

So here we go.

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has launched investigations into several groups, including one founded by former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, for seeking to “aggressively” register “ineligible, out-of-state, or deceased voters” before the state’s Jan. 5 Senate runoff elections.

Raffensperger’s office on Wednesday said the investigations are into groups including America Votes, Vote Forward and The New Georgia Project — which was founded by Abrams and previously chaired by Democratic Senate candidate Raphael Warnock.

Raffensperger said earlier this week that America Votes “is sending absentee ballot applications to people at addresses where they have not lived since 1994.”

Vote Forward, he said, “attempted to register a dead Alabama voter, a woman, to vote here in Georgia.” He also spotlighted The New Georgia Project, “who sent voter registration applications to New York City.”

The secretary of state also pinpointed “Operation New Voter Registration Georgia, who is telling college students in Georgia that they can change their residency to Georgia and then change it back after the election.”

Raffensperger’s office also has 23 investigators working on 250 open investigations into “credible claims of illegal voting” and election law violations, he said.

The 3 questions as usual are…

1. Who’s doing the investigating?

2. Will the results have any actual impact on the groups in question?

3. Will the investigations wrap in time for the runoff?

And you can probably guess the answers yourselves. 

The Democrats are fairly sloppy with their voter fraud projects because they can afford to be. They target minorities so that any attempt to investigate them turns into accusations that the minority vote is being suppressed. And they do it on such a scale that any investigation is swamped under the sheer amount of bad votes.

250 incidents of illegal voting doens’t get you anywhere in the election itself since it doesn’t affect election margins. The groups in question will claim that these were unintentional errors by enthusiastic volunteers. And under enough pressure, they might serve up a scapegoat, and the election fraud machine will still roll on.

What we’re dealing with is a scheme funded by New York and California donors, with lots of money, to rig elections in Georgia. Those donors have a lot of groups that they can and do invest in. That money pipeline then feeds out to operatives and their organizations, and to the low people on the totem people on the ground.

This is one of the big challenges that Republicans are going to face going forward. While Republicans focus on ad buys, Democrats are building a machine.
