ONew Irene says
There is no explanation from God as to the extreme suffering Job experienced except a rebuke from God saying that He alone is sovereign. Not a very satisfying answer.
God does allow pain in our lives in the hope that we will turn to Him and trust Him, or for those who already believe, a deepening of faith.
Peter says
Well, that doesn’t instil much confidence in the Talmud….
Fortunately, God has provided His inspired word, the Holy Bible for our instruction, and that book gives satisfying answers to this question.
Briefly stated, man is *not* innocent. All are condemned to death through one man, Adam, and all have been ransomed through the last Adam, Christ Jesus.
Satan the Devil is, in large part, responsible for the suffering in the world. God has permitted evil for certain purposes- one being to demonstrate the exceeding sinfulness of sin, and what results.
However, certain tribes are not innocent. Israel, Jews, were, on a number of occasions, punished collectively by God for their behaviour. This continues to be so. Soon, a final holocaust willl come upon Israel, leaving a Holy Remnant.
Anne says
We all suffer because of the sins of man. In the beginning, God made a perfect world, and it was good just as Genesis says, but Satan the fallen angel came and corrupted Adam and Eve, and from then on the world was full of sin. There will be a day when God plans to redeem His creation and set His King on His holy hill in Jerusalem. Psalm 2:6 “I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain,”
Anne says
Ezekiel 38 and 39 prophesy about the Gog-Magog war. Ezekiel 39 This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshek and Tubal. I will turn you around and drag you along. I will bring you from the (far north) and send you against the mountains of Israel. God will supernaturally destroy Israel’s enemies, no doubt Russia, and many other invading Islamic nations. 39:7 “I will make known my Holy name among my people Israel. I will no longer let my Holy name be profaned and the nations will know that I am the Holy One of Israel. It is coming! It will surely take place, declares the Sovereign Lord. This is the day I have spoken of.
This is a battle where the evil forces are destroyed by divine intervention. The world will finally understand that God alone is in charge of human history and show his love for his people by restoring their homeland.
