Hamas murdered 1200 people, and housed many hostages in tunnels that were rigged with explosives, and designed to protext the terrorists. Hamas investes millions of dollars in these tunnels and who pays for them? The hostages need to be released in good faith. The EU lawmakers called the response disproportionate and were concerned with the dire deteriorating conditions in the Gaza Strip.
Its quite obvious that sustainable peace cannot exist as long as Hamas and other terrorist groups hijack the Palestinian cause and threaten the existence of Israel. The Two State solution would be forcing Israel to live side by side a Hamas-Fatah terrorist state that would continually provoke wars. Israel is the only real democracy in the region that strives for peace and is continually provoked and attacked.
