When leftists riot on Capitol Hill, it’s not an insurrection.
A woman who was screaming ‘Defund the police’ and swinging a baseball bat outside the Capitol on Friday has been arrested, photos from the scuffle show.
She was detained by law enforcement while climate protesters swarmed the White House on the final day of a week-long program of anti-fossil fuel demonstrations.
‘The woman, who was not cooperative, started yelling at our officers,’ Capitol police told DailyMail.com.
Romano apparently bit one a Capitol cop as they tried to take the bat from her.
The statement from Capitol police describes her attacking officers.
‘When she raised the bat, the officers attempted to take it. In that moment, the woman became combative and bit one of the officers,’ law enforcement said.
‘Today’s the day. Headed to #WashingtonDC to protect our Indigenous Water Protectors & allies being illegally arrested by @POTUS @JoeBiden Secret Service for peacefully protesting. This s**t cannot stand. We The People are taking back our power,’ @liv_romano wrote on the social media site this morning.
An accompanying photo shows a woman with similar features to Romano making a peace sign with a hand that was also wrapped around the handle of a baseball bat.
The Twitter bio claims she’s a co-chair of the Maryland Green Party.
Past election records show a ‘Liv Romano’ unsuccessfully running for the Maryland House of Delegates in 2018.
Somehow not an insurrection.
Romano was not an outlier. There were repeated “occupations” and violent clashes during the Green riot no different than what happened during the Capitol riot.
Dozens of demonstrators staged a sit-in inside the Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), while protestors that were left outside grappled with police as they allegedly attempted to force entry, resulting in multiple injuries, according to multiple sources. “Go inside! Go inside!,” protestors shouted as they reportedly attempted to push into the building, video shows.
“Multiple injuries were sustained by security personnel, and one officer has been transported to a nearby hospital. Medics representing both the Department and the protesters were present,” Interior Department spokesperson Melissa Schwartz said in a statement.
Somehow I don’t think the officer involved will be appearing to testify before Congress during this environmentalist insurrection.
Protesters outside attempted to push past the police line blocking the one doorway that was not locked. Police and protesters shoved each other, and at one point, officers used Tasers, injuring protesters who were not armed, some protesters said.
It doesn’t matter if they were armed.
Climate protesters with the group Extinction Rebellion rallied outside the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, with some climbing on a ledge to release smoke flares. Others used refurbished fire extinguishers to spray fake oil on the building.
The media of course is making sure that the Green Insurrection isn’t front page news and that it isn’t leading the news hour. Even though this attack on democracy ought to be.
