If we were a nation of laws, not leftists, the same tactics that the Mueller/Clinton team have been using against Trump associates would have brought Simpson, Steele and all the various parties in this ambitious effort, up to Power and Rice, to heel.
Instead there have been subpoenas. And the Fusion GPS gang, whom Hillary used to generate the Russia smear and then to plant it inside the government, have been fighting them all the way.
Lawyers for Glenn Simpson, co-founder of Fusion GPS, told the head of the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday that his client will “invoke his constitutional rights not to testify,” defying a GOP-issued subpoena seeking to compel him to give a closed-door deposition.
The lawyers told Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) in an electronic letter that Simpson will not participate in the committee’s inquiry because it “is not designed to discover the truth.”
That’s rich coming from a firm founded by former journalists who sold their smear services wholesale.
Fusion GPS wouldn’t know the truth if it appeared in midair in front of them.
But thus far, Fusion GPS was forced to yield up the truth that their work, the Steele dossier, was paid for by the Clinton campaign. Without pressure that truth would have never found its way from the shadowy crevices of the Clinton netherworld and into the blazing noonday light.
