The synergy of the current figurehead for the Clinton Crime Family, who ought to be in prison seven times over, making a trek to the Dinkins Forum, named after New York City’s disgraced former mayor who lost reelection after allowing anti-Semitic rioters to smash and kill their way across the Jewish community in Crown Heights, is truly beautiful.
Hillary Clinton’s speech is yet another case of radical me-tooism.
So far Hillary has belatedly jumped on the Obama/Warren “You didn’t build that” bandwagon with clumsy results. Now she’s trying to climb on to the Obama “Free the drug dealer” campaign.
Hillary’s Dinkins speech focused on bashing cops and promoting pro-criminal policies.
“We have to come to terms with some hard truths about race and justice in America. There is something profoundly wrong when African American men are still far more likely to be stopped and searched by police, charged with crimes, and sentenced to longer prison terms than are meted out to their white counterparts. There is something wrong when a third of all black men face the prospect of prison at some point during their lifetimes.”
There is something wrong, but what is the source of that wrongness? Baltimore’s police force is more black than white. It has a black mayor and a black police commissioner. Freddie Gray was a convicted criminal.
It takes a willful misreading of reality to keep playing the race card. But then Hillary Clinton namechecks Ferguson without admitting that the whole thing was a lie.
“One in every 28 children in our country now has a parent in prison,” she said. “They’re not there to look after their children or bring home a paycheck, and the consequences are profound. Without the mass incarceration that we currently practice, millions fewer people would be living in poverty.”
Would they be ‘parenting’ if they were out of prison? The record low rates of marriage and single parenting in the black community persist even without incarceration.
Also the sorts of people who end up in jail are not going to stick around as parents anyway.
“We need a true national debate about how to reduce our prison population while keeping our communities safe,” she added.
We have prisons to keep our communities safe. If you want to free criminals, you endanger the people.
“I don’t want the discussion about criminal justice, smart policing to be siloed…the conversation needs to be much broader, because that is a symptom, not a cause for what ails us today,” she said. “We can’t separate the unrest we see on our streets from the cycles of poverty and despair that hollow out those neighborhoods.”
All this stuff worked great in the 60s and 70s. It’s what hollowed out a lot of those neighborhoods. The inner cities are still recovering from this garbage and the big idea of liberals and libertarians is to bring the bad days back.
Great plan. Can’t possibly even lead to more riots and crime and blight because only stupid people learn lessons from history.
When it comes to reducing the country’s prison population while keeping communities safe, Clinton admitted, “I don’t know the answers.” But she said she would be studying and addressing the issue further in the coming months and vowed to act on “the broader inequalities in our society.”
So Hillary delivered a race-baiting speech without having any answers despite having spent decades in politics. And now she’s running for president.
Maybe she can take the Marc Rich approach to reducing the prison population. Just free those with enough cash to bribe the Clintons.
