The Democrat and media messaging swings wildly between, “Trump will refuse to concede” and “Trump will claim victory so we shouldn’t concede”.
The obvious hypocrisy is an even more obvious non-issue in a time when consistency is the hobgoblin of small political minds and an impediment to claiming victory at any cost. And so we have Hillary, who did her best to delay conceding, telling Biden to fight the results, whatever they may be, all the way.
“Joe Biden should not concede under any circumstances because I think this is going to drag out, and eventually I do believe he will win if we don’t give an inch and if we are as focused and relentless as the other side is,” Clinton said in an excerpt posted Tuesday.
If we don’t give an inch and keep finding votes in cemeteries.
The overall message from Democrats alternates between, “We’re going to win by a landslide” and “Trump is going to steal the election”. The latter messaging is not one being turned out by a political faction confident of winning.
The Democrats are prepping for a disputed election, even if they have to invent the dispute. And that’s the least surprising development ever.
As I said in my Civil War speech, the Democrats have disputed every election won by a Republican in this century. And the disputing has only intensified over time. By 2020, the attempt to steal the election is bound to go well past rhetoric, into reality.
