I don’t know how i feel about living in a world where Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg is the voice of reason, but there we are.
Almost every liberal, who isn’t completely insane or dead at 20, will live to see a world which he thinks has gone insane.
Zuckerberg is only 35 years old.
“People worry, and I worry deeply, too, about an erosion of truth,” Zuckerberg told the Washington Post. “At the same time, I don’t think people want to live in a world where you can only say things that tech companies decide are 100 percent true.”
“In general, in a democracy, I think that people should be able to hear for themselves what politicians are saying,” Zuckerberg continued.
Crazy stuff. Or you know, common sense, about three years ago.
Where was the crusade to make sure all internet ads had to be fact checked by somebody in 2014? I don’t recall hearing about it. Nobody in their right mind thought that demanding censorship of political ads was a good idea except angry politicians.
How can anyone seriously argue with these ideas? And yet here we are.
Zuckerberg is being attacked for saying what was a common sense consensus when he turned 30. But now there’s a new reality.
All political ads must be subjected to approval, anywhere they appear. We have always been at war with Oceania.
And, of course, we want tech companies to tell everyone what they can say. As long as the tech companies employ media lefties to do the deciding.
