Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death added fuel to the Biden-Harris and Democrat campaigns. Money has been pouring in from furious TDSers in New York and California who reached a new plateau of rage and hate. But the issue also supplies the Harris-Biden campaign with an abortion plank to run on.

Only appointing a new justice to fill the seat can take that away.

If Republicans fail to fit that seat, the Democrats will make the election about the stakes of taking that seat, especially at the Senate level. If Republicans do fill the seat, then Democrats will run on revenge and rage (not to mention court packing), but they’re running on two out of those three anyway.

Being able to run on an actual seat at stake is simply more powerful and will mobilize the feminist wing of the Democrats far more effectively.
