The Left never wastes an opportunity to exploit a crisis and faced with the Baltimore bridge collision and collapse, it quickly trotted out two narratives.
1. The bridge collision was caused by systemic racism. Baltimore had been discriminated against and so its infrastructure wasn’t up to spec.
2. The illegal aliens killed on the bridge show that we need open borders.
Let’s address the second one.

Some said they were not surprised that all of the victims were immigrants, even though they account for less than 10% of the population in Maryland’s largest city…
“One of the reasons Latinos were involved in this accident is because Latinos do the work that others do not want to do. We have to do it, because we come here for a better life. We do not come to invade the country,” said Lucia Islas, president of Comité Latino de Baltimore, a nonprofit group.
Baltimore, which has struggled with high crime and a poverty rate nearly double the national average, historically hasn’t been home to a large Hispanic population, but the community has grown in recent years. Hispanics made up 7.8% of the city’s population in 2020, up from 4.2% in 2010, according to U.S. Census figures.
Baltimore has a high unemployment rate and a particularly high black unemployment rate. 13% according to the NAACP.
Was Baltimore really suffering from a shortage of low-wage and low-skilled workers?
One way of looking at this is that the contractors chose workers from Central America because they can be paid little, don’t know their rights, and are disposable.
Another is that the people who would normally be filling their jobs in Baltimore don’t want to do those jobs because it’s easier to collect welfare.
Neither perspective makes the leftist agenda look good. And neither one is an argument for open borders.
The blue urban model is a disaster area and adding open borders to the mix doesn’t fit it, it just makes it worse.

What makes me sick is that the media won’t shut up about the dead “construction” workers (filling pot-holes isn’t construction) but don’t mention the people in cars who died AT ALL. Not even Newsmax or Real America’s Voice mentions them, which is a HUGE disappointment for me. Every host on those networks should be ashamed of that. The fake news media are shameless so I expect that kind of behavior (yes, of a kind) but I expect better from objective news networks.
And the lowlife authorities have no idea how many cars went into the river and obviously don’t care. All they talk about is the illegal aliens, too.
During the typically offensive and ridiculous press conference the next day, the speaker – as opposed to the ten or so people who always stand behind the speaker in those excuse fests – got angry when asked how long it would take to rebuild the bridge. He said the search for survivors was the only important thing to talk about. As if anybody who went into the watewr at 1:30 am the night before and hadn’t been found could still be alive. He just said all that needed to say about imaginary survivors. What else was there to say? It was really important? It was really, really important? Super duper important? What a retard. As if he cares about anybody killed in Baltimore. If a city is one of the most criminal and murderous in the country, the authorities obviously don’t care about citizens. And if he can’t cover two subjects in a press conference he would be incompetent – which he is – but the prig refused to answer because he knows it’s going to take years upon years and going over budget countless times to “fix” the bridge, and he wants to pretend the city and state give a crap about citizens.
No way will a new bridge be built, the old crappy one will just be patched up.
Everything about this “accident” is either bad or bad bullshit.

Rudy Giuliani just talked about the cars that went into the river on his Newsmax show, “America’s Mayor Live.” Good for him. He showed the video of the Dali’s collision with the Francis Scott Key Bridge in slow motion multiple times. In real time or slo-mo, it looks to me like four cars went into the water.
And he said what we all know; Bribable Biden’s multi trillion dollar “infrastructure” bill didn’t go into real infrastructure like bridges, roads, et cetera, but “human infrastructure,” which is a Dirtbagocrat euphemism for graft. He even mentioned it’s the same as then President Bareback Hussein Obama’s “shovel ready jobs” graft.
Maybe other people in the news media will follow his lead.

Lots of angles to this story. Why didn’t the ship blow its horn to warn the workers (such ships have extremely loud horns). Should have horns on the bridges to warn of imminent danger.
They are bringing in huge cranes to remove the debris. Cranes are always fascinating engineering technology. The Ancient Greeks had them.
It shouldn’t take that long to clear the channel if they were really serious about it, but they are talking about months.
The trajectory the ship traveled was really curious. I suppose it was an accident but they might have aimed at a better spot. Those container ships have a huge mass so are hard to manoeuvre. Maybe make a rule that they need to be escorted by tugs until clear of the bridges.

It may have blown its horn but the authorities are much too corrupt and dishonest to give us any details.
Like why is the Cyber Security and Infrastructure Security Agency there if the collision was an accident? That’s a federal agency. Because as usual, the government is lying to the public. The GPS was controlled by a remote towing weapon, which can control modern computerized electronics. That includes computers, chips, cars with chips, planes and ships. China has that technology but so far, nobody is saying who else does or where they got it or even if any other country or entity DOES have one.
Cranes are cool. I always marvel at the ones building what passes for skyscapers here in San Jose. They look fragile and seem to defy the laws of physics but they’re enormously powerful. How they can lift such heavy weights at a right angle is beyond me.
The one at the FSK bridge is mounted on a boat! I saw it on TV. Amazing. Of course instead of having the Army Corps of Engineers take care of it with no charge, it’s a graft project in collusion between the stat and city and whichever company is getting paid a fortune. Typical.
And Bent Biden has promised (for what one of his empty promises is worth) that the federal government will pay the entire cost to “build” (repair) the bridge. It’s a campaign tactic conceived by his equally scummy handlers, of course.

I’m convinced a remote towing device was used to control the rudder. Apparently it wasn’t able to control the engines or the user didn’t bother. The Captain and Pilot reportedly said the ship was thrown into hard reverse, which would explain the plumes of smoke one of the chicks who comments here noted. As usual the government is trying to cover up a disaster and naturally, the Beijing Biden administration isn’t going to implicate China in any way. Anybody who thinks the GPS was controlled by an outside hack is already being branded a conspiracy theorist, as if we’re going on about Trump/Russia/Ukraine collusion and a Russian plant of the laptop from Hell.
What I want to know was who shot that video? The video starts BEFORE the ship turned hard right/starboard. Why would somebody be videoing that?

A cargo ship runs into Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key bridge and demolishes the mile-and-a-half structure. Like vultures, Democ-rat politicians swoop down, absurdly claiming that the bridge’s destruction proves the need for Democ-rat policy preferences like open borders and enforced quotas favoring the black race, the female gender and various sexual perversions. For Democ-rat politicians, the collapsed bridge proves the need for Democ-rat politicians. For the rest us, Democ-rat glee over the wreckage suggests a motive for orchestrating this questionable “accident” in the first place. Did the Democ-rat arsonist/firemen hack the ship’s digital guidance system and cause the whole darn thing? It fits their “woke” modus operandi. For instance, in furtherance of their Ukraine war gambit, we know that Democ-rat operatives blew up the Nord Stream natural gas pipeline year before last in the Baltic Sea.
