The Left’s exterior morphs even as its basic goals and values remain the same. (Kind of like Kamala.) In response to Trump’s win, the Left is experiencing systemic shock but out of that shock, it will be reborn. And we’re waiting to see what ‘form’ the ‘destroyer’ will take.
Abortion didn’t work so well and identity politics didn’t seem to pay off. At the moment the only thing that seemed to have stirred up the Left was the UnitedHealth shooting.
Despite some expectations, the alleged shooter doesn’t really fit any neat and simple political profiles (except the familiar bright but troubled young male going down an internet rabbit hole for maximum craziness), but that matters less than the reaction to the shooting.
The shooting became the ‘next thing’ for leftists, leading to justifications for the murder, celebrations of the killer, and the elevation of anti-capitalist discourse. That doesn’t necessarily mean that this is the form that leftists are going to take going forward, but at the moment it is having an influence.
I’ not saying that we’re going to see a rash of shootings (though a copycat case or two has now become a lot more likely) but some on the Left may fasten onto anti-capitalism as the way forward for a movement that seemed to have hit a brick wall during the election.

This poor guy was so brainwashed he threw it all away. Shows that even a guy in his 20s can be thoroughly brainwashed by the insane leftist propaganda.
Jeff Bargholz says
Yeah, the effeminate little gay guy was seriously mentally disturbed. Didn’t he get killed by the cops? Or maybe he’s on his way to butt pound prison? I don’t remember.
But that person he murdered was a real human being. Life is precious and killing people is a terrible thing. It could’ve been one of our family members of friends. I’m sure he had people like that in his life, the poor bastard.
I mean yeah, we should be taking out leftists and street protesters with flame throwers but ordinary people are off limits.
Algorithmic Analyst says
Apparently he had a surfing injury in Hawaii, a back injury and painful surgery. Pretty stupid for a white guy from the mainland to start out on those powerful waves in Hawaii 🙂
Start out on small waves in California. Less chance of injury 🙂
shempus says
hope you don’t mean Maverick’s
Algorithmic Analyst says
That’s a good point 🙂
Jeff Bargholz says
I heard those Maverick waves are the biggest in the world. I also heard it’s shark infested.
I remember sharks back in Indonesia. Always watching you. Thinking about eating you. Creepy shitbags.
Jeff Bargholz says
Yeah, just go to Newport Beach. That’s were I went body surfing as a kid.
Those Hawaii waves look crazy to me, brother. I’ll leave them to the experts. I have no desire to get pounded on coral and die. I want to live forever!

Regarding a “ movement” needing something to fasten onto; Its simply crazy to hate, fear, shout, destroy cities riot, throw paint at art and even kill without exactly knowing why..Such a movement in search of a cause. Is mental illness.
Madame DeFarge says
The murder also has brought light into a new area of the medical industrial complex.
Onzeur Trante says
Perhaps that was the young man’s misguided motive? but it didn’t make him a hero.
Martina Vaslovik says
The Left has always been anti-capitalist, they have just rebranded ;it so something else through all the failures of Marxist ideology, climate change and postmodernism being the most recent efforts.
Algorithmic Analyst says
I don’t know how to say this right, but I don’t see that any “capitalist system” exists. It isn’t like anyone forced us to live in a capitalist system. I see it as money evolving, starting with Aristotle’s explanation of economics, how metal had value in itself, then because it was easily stored, it became a kind of money, which could be accumulated, and thus had both the intrinsic value of the metal and an additional value as a store of value, or “money”.
Money exists in every society I think, even Communist or Socialist. Barter is just a more primitive kind of economy, where goods are exchanged for goods, without the convenience of a “medium of exchange”, or “money”.
Socialism is just a system where bureaucrats impose a bunch of rules on us that may interfere with the economy, but money still exists in some form.
Onzeur Trante says
And Mangione will be the poster boy. A tragic waste of his life and that of Mr. Thompson. Very sad all around.
shempus says
unfortunately he will be very popular in the big house. didn’t think that part though, eh?
Jeff Bargholz says
I hope he gets raped to death.

The American health insurance business is not Free Market Capitalism. The industry is controlled, favored, and protected from competition by the government.
The American health insurance business as well as the medical industry, banking, and Big Pharm, education, and almost every other big industry are THOROUGHLY controlled, regulated, and FORCED by Big Government. That’s called FASCISM and SOCIALISM not Free Market Capitalism.
The USA, today, is no longer a capitalist country, it is an advanced welfare state, on the precipice of becoming a complete fascist state with socialist slogans.
These youngsters don’t have a clue as to what Free Market Capitalism actually is. They think Capitalism means simply rich businesses and rich businessmen. I wouldn’t be surprised if most of them think Don Corleone and Tony Montana were actual, historical, capitalist tycoons, that’s how indoctrinated they are at the universities.
“Capitalism is a social system based on the recognition of individual rights, including property rights, in which all property is privately owned.” – Ayn Rand

Just what I need on a beautiful Wednesday morning. A lecture on free market capitalism, urging us to get exorcised about something none of us can change.
After all, if the little dwarf woman couldn’t change minds 50 years ago who is going to change it now? No one.
Poor you. Always gotta bitch about something. You can’t even be happy about the fact that life is going to get better with Trump and his crew running things. “Objectionism” has definitely made you a glass half empty king of guy.
Here’s a suggestion. Go buy some gold or silver. My investment has doubled in just the last two years. And I don’t worry about the stock market.
Hey, are those sleigh bells I hear?
DetroitOtaku says
He’s right on this one. We no longer have a free market economy. We haven’t had anything close to one since Coolidge.

Want to lower healthcare costs? Get the government out of healthcare.
Don Kosky says
No, the anti corrupt institution is not the same as anti-Capitalism. I am a flat earther, the whole space industry is a lie. Giving our children 72 toxic poisons before the age of 18 and calling it “medicine” is criminal. Our whole MD fake “healthcare” is criminal (yes, MD medicine does some things right when it comes to trauma and surgery but for the most part it’s a big pharma gulag). And finally the whole global climate crisis hoax is corporate and corrupt. We need to bring down these large organizations for the maiming and murdering of our citizens and stealing money with their lies. They need to go and I don’t care what methods are used. I’m fed up. I lost friends and family members to the corruption. Let’s stop defending them.

it is entirely tragic when a person feels so hopeless and helpless that an act of violence is perpetrated.
the man who perpetrated the violence will not be villified by the masses. we’ve all been thinking the same. BIG PHARAMA, BIG DOC, BIG INSURANCE perpetrate mass economic crimes and are never prosecuted. they are not prosecuted and know they never will be because they’ve tucked as wad or two into the pockets of the pols who service the special interests.
……….. and america inches closer to revolution or civil war II.

The right is blatantly misreading this shooter/CEO situation.
They so badly want to pin this as a left wing issue. A leftist extremism case. It’s not. Go read the guy’s manifesto. What it was is an anger issue. Anger at problems that the left have created, sure. And he’s misguided on who created this mess.
This guy who was assassinated was not a good man. He was no better than a mob boss and if it wasn’t this kid who got him, someone else would’ve given the amount of financial crimes this guy had going on. He was very corrupt. He should’ve been behind bars ages ago.
This isn’t a right vs. left issue. Its a crime issue. It’s an injustice issue. It’s a vigilante issue. It’s a result of systems out of control.
