Is there anywhere that Qatar, the Islamic terror state which has its bloody fingers in everything from Hamas to the Afghanistan collapse to Al Jazeera to 9/11 isn’t?
What about Hollywood?
Daniel Craig is looking for money in the desert; the financiers in the desert want Bond.
It sounds like a half-baked pitch for the next 007 film. In fact, it’s the reality of the present-day film industry: The British movie star is trying to secure financing for a passion project, a version of Shakespeare’s Othello, set in an American barracks in Iraq, from Middle Eastern governments including Qatar, according to people briefed on discussions.
This seems to be a revival of a dumb idea that Craig had starred in back in 2016 in theaters in which he played Iago. By then the Iraq War was fading, but now the whole thing is completely senseless. But I imagine Qatari backing could give it a further anti-American twist.
And then, why not James Bond?
Regardless of who plays Bond… the Qatari government has expressed quiet interest in a connection to upcoming films, the people said.
King Charles III got caught taking Qatari money.
Prince Charles’ office has denied there was any wrongdoing in the heir to the British throne accepting bags full of cash as charity donations from a Qatari politician
After buying the King ,Qatar wants to buy Bond.
Jeff Bargholz says
Gutter can have Daniel Craig. The guy’s a weirdo. He wanted to make James Bod gay and now he wants to be Othello in Iraq? Will he wear blackface like Lawrence Olivier?
Algorithmic Analyst says
Sean Connery was my favorite Bond. Roger Moore was OK.
Jeff Bargholz says
Yeah, Sean Connery is the gold standard.
I admit I like Pierce Brosnan a lot, too. He’s so good looking and “The World is Not Enough” (great title) movie he did where he shot dead the evil Sophie Marceau character without a qualm was very good, and that was a cruel but great scene that showed he could be charming but sinister like Connery. The Judi Dench “M” character was really good too when she only used facial expression to show the shock she felt by Bond’s professional coldness.
Beez says
Bond movies were great, but they encouraged emulation among men. Not good.
Algorithmic Analyst says
Thanks Jeff! Actually I like Pierce Brosnan as an actor. Such as “The Long Good Friday”. But I had stopped watching new Bond movies by the time he took the role.
Cassandra says
He should play Arafat in a Romeo and Juliet version with his bodyguard.
DetroitOtaku says
The last real Bond was Pierce Brosnan. He unfortunately was let down by a weak supporting cast in the films following Goldeneye.
Though Tomorrow Never Dies has aged very well lately due to its themes about the press.

KC3 is getting his punishment from on high, in bucketloads right now. William made me sick when he shook the blood soaked hand of Abbas then crawls to a Holocaust survivor for a chat. I won’t even bother to mention the oo2.5 hoe.
Israel should send some F15 and F35s to return Qatar to the empty desert.
Martina Vaslovik says
Sean Connery was the only Bond. There, I said it!

Otello! No! My favorite opera. The Met did not allow the lead tenor playing Otello to wear black face any more. This lead to the subtitles reading “ maybe it’s my black face” sung by a man’s white face. Iago could be Qatari as he’s evil.
IAnd Bond! There’s a funny Israeli skit about the billionaires livin large in Qatar.
We are all living inside a giant farce.
