It’s a platform, I guess.
Masks now, masks yesterday, masks forever.
Joe Biden’s platform thus far has largely consisted of giving the Left some 70% of what it wants. Masks still poll well in a frightened country, but compulsory masking not as well.
Biden: “I would go back to making sure that everybody had masks, that you had PPE lined up, making sure we stockpile all the things that we need and we don’t have now. The one thing we do know, these masks make a gigantic difference. I would insist that everybody in public be wearing that mask. Anyone to reopen, it would have to make sure that they walked into a business that had masks.”
Rice: Couldn’t you use your federal leverage to mandate that?
Biden: Yes.
Rice: Would you?
Biden: Yes, I would from an executive standpoint, yes I would.
Rice: So you would, in effect, mandate the wearing of masks?
Biden: I would do everything possible to make it required the people had to wear masks in public.”
Biden is reportedly pretty out of it, but he still manages to leave himself some breathing room. No pun intended. But not much. He’s all but promising to force everyone to wear masks.
Can he do it legally?
Ask Justice Roberts, who has a history of deciding that Democrats should be able to do whatever the media thinks is an urgent enough social issue, like illegal alien amnesty or gay marriage or treating men who wear dresses as being protected by the Civil Rights Act. Does anyone really want to bet on Roberts taking on an exec order from President Biden that’s backed by the AMA and every lefty group?
I wouldn’t put 50 cents on it.
At least Biden finally has a winning issue.
Riots and masks everywhere. Make 2020 forever.
