Joe Biden has decided to get down and do what all the cool influencers are doing by writing a Medium post. Or having his name on one anyway.
Across America, and around the globe, the disturbing rise of anti-Semitism is shredding the fabric of our communities, tearing apart the lives of innocent people and their families, and eroding the soul of our nation.
This tide of hatred fueled last week’s horrific act of domestic terrorism that took the lives of a police officer and three people at JC Kosher Supermarket in New Jersey. It’s the same hatred that unleashed the deadliest attack on the Jewish community in U.S. history last year at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. That led a gunman armed with an AR-15 style gun to storm the Chabad of Poway Synagogue in California earlier this year on the last day of Passover.
That’s a valid point. It is the same hatred. In that it’s anti-Semitism.
But then Joe goes on to ignore anti-Semitism in his political movement while spending a dozen paragraphs on white nationalism. The killers in the JC Kosher Supermarket were black nationalists.
They believed the claims made by, among others, Linda Sarsour, that Jews are getting the cops to kill black people.
Biden could have condemned the anti-Semitism on both sides. Instead he does a meaningless, “Soviet guy says, ‘I too can go to the Kremlin and say President Reagan is a jerk'” condemnation of white nationalism. And then skews it into a series of dishonest attacks on President Trump.
