Kamala Harris was lucky to ever make it to the United States Senate, but she’s certainly not acting as if she expects to go back there.
Kamala Harris sold her Washington D.C. condo for $1.85 million earlier this week, according to a person familiar with the deal. Harris and Doug Emhoff purchased the condo for $1.775 million in October 2017.
The deal appears to be part of a larger liquidation strategy for Harris and Emhoff. In March, the vice president also sold an apartment that she had owned for decades in San Francisco for $860,000. That property went into contract just nine days after it hit the market, selling for well above its $799,000 asking price. Harris had purchased the apartment in 1998 for $299,000.
So Kamala either expects to stay in government digs in D.C. or move back with her husband to Los Angeles. They’re not expecting her to take another crack at the Senate. Considering California’s crony Democrat politics, that would be highly unlikely anyway.
In a normal administration, there would be a clearer career trajectory, but in the Biden White House, anything can happen.
But Kamala is either gambling on a presidential run or a return to L.A.
Considering how wrong her instincts have been so far, that doesn’t surprise me. If she thinks Biden or his handlers are turning over the top job to her barring a major malfunction in the Bidenbot, she’s kidding herself.
