The media’s posturing in the Trump-Roberts debate is an absurdly laughable example of its hypocritical pieties.
The very same people who went after Brett Kavanaugh with torches and pitchforks now expect us to take their protestations about the apolitical nature of the judiciary seriously.
But why did they go after Kavanaugh? Because they don’t believe that judicial appointees are apolitical.
If the Left (of which the media is a part) believed that the judiciary is apolitical, then it would not turn every judicial appointment into a pitched battle. Its only reason for doing so is its utter lack of belief in an independent judiciary.
Like Trump, the media doesn’t believe in any myths about an independent judiciary. And yet its posturing is a cynical exercise in condemning Trump for pointing out a reality that it knows is true and that it lives by.
