Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, the democratically elected choice of ballot harvesters whose election was slightly less credible than those conducted in Syria and North Korea, is blaming the “conservative press” for the public’s fear that they’re living in a violent crime-ridden hellhole run by crime pandering politicians.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass hit the NPR airwaves (where she knew nobody would be listening) to blame “the press and especially the conservative press that wants to paint…Democratic-run cities as though we are in a crisis of crime” for the “sense of fear” in the city, not the criminals themselves.
In the Friday morning interview, Bass also claimed that people are safe in Los Angeles and that “crime trends show crime going down
When I walk down the street and see crazy homeless bums screaming and randomly lashing out, I know that it’s because of the “conservative press”.
LA, like other major cities, is overrun by crime because the laws have been dismantled or aren’t enforced. Typically, the elimination of bail means that criminals are almost always out as soon as they’re busted.
Los Angeles’s zero-bail policy was reinstated by a judge earlier this year after a lawsuit. Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon had his own zero-bail policy in place for prosecutors until last year’s recall threat scared him into allowing a few exceptions. But Gascon has made his support for zero bail clear, and it continues to be a fact of life in Los Angeles’s criminal justice system.
All of this came full circle with the smash-and-grab robbery of Yves Saint Laurent, where a group of at least 30 criminals made off with around $300,000 worth of merchandise. The first suspect to be arrested was Ivan Ramirez, who was promptly released from jail just a few hours later with just a citation.
Anyone worried that they’re living in a hellscape of junkies and thugs who can do whatever they want is just under the influence of the conservative press… like the Los Angeles Times.

For me it started in September 1984, with friends getting killed by street criminals. I don’t remember being afraid of crime before that.
I’m younger than you, AA, I was 18 in Sept ’84, but was living in and roaming places in Atlanta that were pretty dangerous(cheap rent). I moved out of my parents’ home the day after my 18th birthday, which I spent at the Atlanta MEPS center, enlisting, as my first adult act. I was delayed entry though, waiting 6 months for a slot in my AIT to open. It’s several miracles that I’m alive (situational awareness mostly, and a little ability), and many of my friends are not. Many don’t understand what it’s like to live in a dangerous neighborhood, but I can tell you do.

Today is 08/20/23 so far year to date in the over 95 years of Democrat control of the city of Chicago there have been since Friday 2pm till 12 AM Sunday morning 5 people killed, 26 wounded all because of Conservative Press really. So Democrats really do think American’s are deaf, dumb, and blind.

A thought struck me when I started reading this article. It’s really getting bad when a trip to the west coast conjures up more concerns than a trip to Pakistan.
The inland parts of the West Coast are fine but the big coastal cities have become shit-holes, even beautiful San Fran. Portland, and Seattle. derelicts and crime abound.
Of course, LA has been a shit-hole as long as I can remember. Too many so called minorities.
I lived in Seattle in the 90s and it was great, even though I thought most Seattlites were dorks and cunts. Guys used to wear parkas with shorts, sandals and fuzzy purple socks. WTF? But I never worried about those geeks sticking a knife in my back or taking a dump right in front of my apartment on the sidewalk.

The mayor of LA can “end” crime by not noticing crime, decriminalizing crime, and not keeping records of crimes. It wasn’t the right (press or any other) that caused me to know that criminals and other violent people are dangerous – it was being hit on the back of my head with a piece of metal from a car bumper. I was lucky that I needed only one suture. And it was racial – but not the correct kind for her.
