And Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass lives in fear that the invaders will show up.
“What they’re trying to do is destabilize cities … it’s the narrative that these are Democratic-run cities and that we don’t know how to govern and that everything is chaotic here,” Bass told Axios’ Russell Contreras during Axios Visionarios in Los Angeles.
“We live in a city that welcomes immigrants, and so I think we have been able to handle it, but I am fearful that any day planes could start coming.”
The idea that LA or NYC is a mess because of some Republican conspiracy to destabilize cities is an interesting narrative.

Also, the culture in the big Democrat cities is different. Densely populated with a large number of street criminals, they tolerate shoplifting and street crime, and do little to stop it. In more rural areas the culture of the small towns is different, they don’t tolerate such crimes and the local police find ways to stop it.

This is a world wide left wing explanation for the poverty in their cities. The US left are inarticulate compared to some others. They believe three things: Overpopulation; climate change refugees and the criminalization of poverty. They see crime and a survival response to poverty not the cause of poverty. They see over population and climate change as the real primary causes. They see the “rich” right wing states as places that drive out poor people into the leftist cities. In general they don’t acknowledge the idea of a right wing city. A rich and law full city is just a place that has, though various laws or the lack of government subsidy, have driven the poor to leave. If shown stories of people that have gone from poor to middle class they disbelieve the story. They assume that all wealth comes from some form of exploitations. In their worldview resources are finite and diminishing, Enterprise has no function other that to disguise exportation. Crime is seen as necessary survival or reparations or taking bac from the rich.
As a result of this worldview they can never see the bad consequences of their policies and it can never be bad enough for them and their voters to seek other solutions. Real free market solutions to poverty and the role of morality, sanity and education in poverty mitigation are all inconceivable ideas to them.
