Los Angeles is on fire. Outside the night sky looks orange. The current scale of fires appears unprecedented and we’re still heading into some of the worst winds overnight. (If you don’t see further updates from me, it may be because the power is out.)
And Mayor Karen Bass, the social justice candidate whose election was lubricated by some of the most obvious ballot stuffing since the glory days of Chicago is… in Ghana.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass will be part of the four-member presidential delegation attending Tuesday’s inauguration of John Dramani Mahama as Ghana’s president.
Shalanda D. Young, the director of the U.S. Office of Management and Budget, will lead the delegation to Accra, Ghana’s capital. It also consists of Virginia E. Palmer, the U.S. ambassador to Ghana, and Frances Z. Brown, special assistant to the president and the National Security Council’s senior director for African affairs.
As a congresswoman, Bass chaired the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, Global Human Rights and International Organizations from 2019-22.
Bass is no longer a congresswoman. She took a job running a city. And decided to go off on a likely taxpayer-funded jaunt.
There were warnings of ‘life-threatening conditions’ from the National Weather Service. Bass chose to have her vacation in Africa. And with ballot harvesting, voters don’t matter, only activist groups do, resulting in a catastrophic leadership that openly shows disdain for the people it’s supposed to be working for.
This is the best government ballot harvesting can buy.

Leadership is important. The whole fire department can be dysfunctional without a good leader. The crews may be just waiting for orders, not being sure what they are supposed to be doing.
It may take more that a shock to wake up the Wokies to the hazards of DEI. That is the curious thing I didn’t realize at first about perception. The worldview is so strongly entrenched in the brain that even a shock may not alter it.
Cognitive dissonance. The perception of the shock may just roll away like water off a duck’s back.

While I am no fan of WOKE, Social Justice politicians, I believe the article is a little unfair. She left for Ghana before the fire started and will be back in L.A. this morning. She made the turn around arrangements as soon as she could and she has been in constant contact with the Fire Chief and others that are on the scene.

Lost Angleworms has not had a really good Mayor in a long time just like with most of our Major Cities like New York San Francisco and especially Chicago who keep electing Democrats

A check of Los Angeles’ budget shows Democrat LA Mayor Karen Bass cut about $20 million from LA’s budget for fire services in this current fiscal year and she had demanded even higher cuts. This as massive wildfires devastate Los Angeles with at least 80K evacuating, and local reports show the LA fire department is running out of water. Mayor Bass had proposed about $23 million in cuts to the LA fire department. Mayor Bass was on a trip with a Biden delegation to Ghana overseas as local LA residents hammer her saying she should resign. $13 million of the cuts to the LA fire department were for operating supplies plus larger cuts to salaries.

Hollywood as always will use this unfortunate situation to solicit “donations” that most likely will not go to those in need but instead go to their preparations for the upcoming Olympics. Who would attend or even watch the Olympics anymore based on the last Godless mockery displayed there!
