It seems only fitting that a place where people don’t have the right not to be carjacked, babies don’t have the right not to be killed, and property rights are rapidly being abolished will have a bill of rights for felines.
California’s woke one-party state has tilted the remaining party system so far toward the radical Left that the ruling legislators keep topping each other every week with new bouts of insanity. Any agenda that the criminal, environmental, and animal rights nutters want passed will happen.
So this isn’t a peak, just another wave in a tsunami of craziness.
The LA City Council Tuesday began considering a resolution to support a Dog and Cat Bill of Rights that’s moving through the state Legislature.
Assembly Bill 1881, introduced by Assemblyman Miguel Santiago, D-Los Angeles, would gives animals the right to:
freedom from exploitation, cruelty, neglect and abuse;
a life of comfort, free of fear, and anxiety;
daily mental stimulation and appropriate exercise;
nutritious food, sanitary water and shelter in an appropriate and safe environment;
preventive and therapeutic health care; and health care, including spaying and neutering to prevent unwanted litters.
A right to daily mental stimulation? In California?
Animal abuse is already illegal. The rest, including a right to health care, is just the usual socialism for animals.
And have they checked whether the cats and dogs want to be spayed and neutered? They may not. That’s something we do for our convenience, not theirs. If we believed cats and dogs had rights, we wouldn’t be spraying them.
If the legislation is passed, the bill of rights would be required to be posted at animal shelters and rescue groups, and failure to do so would be punishable by a fine of up to $250.
I’m sure that will solve everything. Put up a sign or we’ll fine you.
I assume that Los Angeles legislators, who are themselves illiterate, don’t realize that cats can’t read.
