Another reminder from a public sector union that public sector unions are an abomination.

The Los Angeles Unified school district’s teachers are on strike. The strike previously didn’t affect students since they were on break. But now the strike will.

What’s at stake?

United Teachers wants a 6.5% pay raise. LAUSD is only offering a measly 6.0% pay raise.

And so half a million students in LAUSD are going to be left dangling over that .5%.

At least UT dropped its demand for fewer standardized tests. Because having some metric to measure their performance by is something.

That’s after the union went to Federal court to argue that special ed teachers don’t provide essential services and should be able to go on strike.

It’s for the kids.
