I’m not exactly sure when the rest of the world decided that we were some sort of dystopia to be picked over, but at some point they decided that Escape From New York and The Purge were documentaries and when our elected officials decided to open the border and end prosecutions of criminals, they came to join the party.
Welcome to Biden’s America. Keep your hands inside the bus and lock your doors.
Southern California law enforcement agencies are focusing on the trend of burglary tourism, where thieves travel internationally to the U.S. to burglarize homes, then return to their home country.
The Orange County Register reported these South American theft groups are often comprised of Chilean or Colombian nationals who operate as “‘Lanzas Internacionales,’ or international thieves in the Spanish-speaking world.”
!And we’re part of the Spanish-speaking world now!
Authorities say the thieves are professionals who surveil homes before breaking in when residents are away. They often bring heavy-duty tools to steal or break into safes that are bolted down or mounted.
I know this is horribly bigoted of me and we’re barring the gates to the Ph.D. AI inventors of tomorrow, who are typically to be found among the criminal classes of El Salvador and Chile, if not the Jihadi outposts of Pakistan and Gaza, but maybe we shouldn’t just let anyone who wants into the country?
The thieves typically ship the items they steal back to their home countries or sell the items before leaving.
They’ve also been known to target affluent coastal neighborhoods as well as homes that border trails, golf courses and parks.
Seriously. We have foreign criminals visiting the country, committing robberies and then shipping the stuff back to their own countries. The level of chutzpah here is commensurate with the incompetence of federal law enforcement. Maybe the FBI could take a break from sending SWAT teams to the homes of anti-abortion protesters to actually create a useful watch list and track a whole bunch of diamond necklaces being Fed Ex’d to Chile?
Authorities say some thieves obtain visas before arriving in the U.S., while others apply through a visa-waiver program that allows them to visit the U.S. for tourism or business without obtaining a visa within the first 90 days.
Look on the bright side, at least they’re not moving here.
A thief on a visa is still going to cost taxpayers less than one of these migrants who moves here, commits crimes here and then stays for the next 40 years.
Maybe we should just offer migrants the opportunity to commit a few robberies free of charge before going back home.
It would be a horrible cinematic dystopia, but isn’t that kind of what we have already?

Same kind of thing really ramp up when they formed the E.U.
Thieves from the old Soviet Block would get in and go on
an excursion.

BUT, do they STEAL more than the CORRUPT ‘ELITES”?? Actually, it’s more PERSONAL when someone breaks into your HOME, but it still has a cost to society with higher insurance rates! Maybe Joe is getting his 10%!
