Russiagate was a political ploy. The current incarnation of it has mostly discarded the Russia factor, but it was never about Russia.
The original incarnation was about destroying Trump and anything that stood in the way of Hillary’s election.
Biden is an even weaker candidate than Hillary and there’s little surprise that he’s getting his Russiagate on ahead of the primaries.
A sitting administration directing the FBI to raid a likely presidential opponent is all but unprecedented, except that the Obama and Clinton teams had been working toward that end before the 2016 election. And continued working on it.
The only unprecedented element is how aggressive they’re willing to be, but that’s not a new development, rather it’s the continuation of an existing project.
The Biden administration will claim that it knew nothing, but there is simply no way that the Attorney General would not have been in the loop.
Many will point out the dramatically different treatment that Hillary Clinton received. But Hillary and her people created this investigation to begin with. It only stands to reason that Hillary would not only be treated very differently, but that the dirty tricks campaign generated by her people would once again target Trump and Republican opponents for something that she was guilty of, abusing classified materials, just as it did with Russian collusion.
Biden is now in an even worse place than Hillary. And that means bringing out the big guns.
Some will focus on the FBI, but it’s not about the FBI. It’s about the cold hard reality that most of the federal government is, as I recently wrote, a Democrat operation and one that is no longer shy about using thuggish tactics to destroy opponents in the most public ways possible.
